Myrtle added, her voice firm but gentle. "We can't save everyone in this situation, but we can save ourselves. Let's focus on that for now.
The group nodded in agreement, and they continued to gather as much food and drink as they could carry.
Once they had gathered all they could, they made their way back to the classroom, their backpacks heavy with supplies.
"Hey! come here already." Roan said.
"Shh… be quiet." I murmered.
'Hm, their bags seems heavy, it looks like they took a lot.'
Annaleigh, Myrtle and Thimothy rushed to the classroom door. Roan and I pushed away the chairs that were blocking their entry.
.
.
.
"We found some towels that we can use to sleep on and knives that are sharp…"
"Their dangerous but definitely affective to use against low monsters!" Annaleigh chimed in.
"It's good, but let's all clean and organize our classroom."
We pushed the chairs all the way back to put the towels on the ground for us to sleep on, we have 6 towels and it was more than enough for us.
We placed our bags on the ground near the blackboard, while Roan took the snacks and drinks, placing them on the table.
'We only have food that can last for about a week or less, but I have an idea… I'm going to discuss it the day after tomorrow.'
I layed down and sighed. "It feels like we have many responsabilities now with this situation…"
"Definitely, but it doesn't feel that bad and good at the same time." Thimothy uttered.
Hours passed and we charged our phones with the charger that was in my backpack even before the apocalypse.
"Hm, there's no internet… but it feels reassuring enough that we can still have access to our phones." Myrtle spoke and the others nodded in agreement.
I checked the time and it was 4:27 pm. '... It's time for the afternoon snack.'
"Hey, let's grab one snack since it's already 4 pm." I stated.
The others quickly lined up and took one. "Uh, that was unexpectedly fast…"
Two days passed by quickly like wind and it was time for me to discuss my plan.
"I feel like we should go outside of the school and search as a team." I announced, the others looked at me with worries.
"But won't that be dangerous? we don't even know if the purple snake isn't there anymore…" Annaleigh asked.
"Don't worry, I already have a plan for it."
Minutes passed and I brought out my guide book that I made for unrealistic situations like this.
"The plan is to defeat the Giant Violent Serpent if we ever encounter it, we should use objects in their surroundings as weapons, evade its attacks as long as possible, and let's try to immobilize or distract it long enough to escape." I spoke to the others about the plan.
"Woah! that sounds like a great plan but it also contains risk…" Roan chimed in. "Anyways, we'll have a half-half chance in encountering it but if we did get caught by it's naked eye then… it's much higher possibility that we die."
'I agree but it's the only kind of option if we ever encounter it.' I thought.
"I bet that we're not going to see the snake!" Thimothy exclaimed.
.
.
.
We ended up encountering the snake…
"Uwah… I know that I made the plan but it's so… it's so hard!" I yelled.
Earlier...
Myrtle, Thimothy, Annaleigh, Roan, and me - rushed straight to the school gate with our knifes. Suddenly, we heard a faint hissing sound, growing louder by the second.
"... Fuck, we're so fucked." I uttered, I knew that I made the plan that was great but it's writing is much easier than doing it.
Before anyone could react, the Gian Serpent emerged from the shadows, it's piercing gaze fixed on the group.
Myrtle, quick-thinking, grabbed her knife and prepared to defend herself no matter the risks. The others including me followed, we held our knifes tightly and our eyes were somehow determined.
The serpent lunged at us, it's jaws wide open. Thimothy and Myrtle stabbed at its face, trying to distract it. Annaleigh and Roan targeted its body, trying to find a weak spot.
'Annaleigh's too distracted by fear, she needs to snap out of it or she'll face the consequences.'
"Annaleigh! go! you can do it!" I yelled, supporting her while she nodded with sparkling eyes and snapped herself out of the spell of fear.
I turned to face the snake, I aimed for it's eyes while the others distracted it. 'Hmph... I hope I find a blind spot..'
The serpent thrashed about, its scales deflecting some of the knife blows. But the friends persisted, stabbing and slashing in a desperate way to survive.
Annaleigh fell down but she stood up again to stab the snake.
As the fight continued, my friends began to be tired because they weren't experienced fighters, we were just students. The serpent's sheer size and strength was making it difficult for us. Just when hope was all lost, I remembered the serpent's weakness, it was the neck.
With determination, I lunged at the serpent's neck no matter the risks, I raised the knife. The others followed, targeting the same spot. The serpent's scales were thinner there, and the knifes bit deep.
We defeated the serpent that was difficult but can succeed once if we make a perfect plan.
"Now that I realized it... the plan sucked." I muttered.
To be continued…
