Chapter 36: I won’t bite you

Ji-Ah swallowed hard, her mind racing. Evelyn was drunk. That much was obvious. But that didn't change the fact that she'd just kissed her—right in front of everyone—while claiming her as if she had any right to.

Ji-Ah turned her head slightly, her cheek still tingling from where Evelyn's lips had touched hers. Her friends, of course, were absolutely no help.

Seo-Jun looked like he was watching the best drama of his life, and Min-Hye? She was outright smirking.

"Alright," Min-Hye clapped her hands together. "So, Ji-Ah, you taking her to bed, or should we?"

Ji-Ah's face burned. "Excuse me?!"

Seo-Jun leaned in, grinning. "Well, she is your fiancée."

Ji-Ah shot them both a murderous glare before turning back to Evelyn, who was still leaning on her, her weight slightly pressing Ji-Ah against the wall.

Evelyn's lips curled up lazily. "You're blushing."

Ji-Ah shoved her away—gently, because damn it, she was still worried about her. "You need to sleep."

Evelyn pouted, and why the hell was that cute?

"I'd rather stay here," Evelyn murmured, eyes flicking down to Ji-Ah's lips again.

Ji-Ah's breath hitched.

Nope. Nope nope nope.

She grabbed Evelyn's arm and dragged her toward the bedroom, ignoring the way her friends cackled behind her.

Once inside, she sat Evelyn down on the bed and crossed her arms. "You're drunk. Sleep."

Evelyn tilted her head, eyes half-lidded. "You're bossy."

Ji-Ah groaned. "Evelyn."

Evelyn sighed dramatically, flopping back on the bed. "Fine, fine. But only if you sleep here too."

Ji-Ah stiffened. "Excuse me?"

Evelyn turned on her side, smirking. "You heard me."

Ji-Ah's heart was pounding. "I'm not—"

Evelyn patted the space next to her. "Come on, Ji-Ah. I won't bite." Then, after a pause, she added with a wicked glint, "Unless you want me to."

Ji-Ah whipped around and marched straight to the door. "Nope. Goodnight."

Evelyn chuckled softly as Ji-Ah practically ran out of the room.

She didn't push anymore. She didn't need to.

Because Ji-Ah's ears were red.

And that was more than enough proof that Evelyn wasn't the only one feeling something.
