As soon as the office door shut, Ji-Ah crossed her arms and glared at Evelyn. "What the hell are you doing here?"
Evelyn leaned casually against the wall, completely unbothered. "Visiting my fiancée. Is that a crime?"
"Yes, when you show up unannounced!" Ji-Ah hissed. "Do you know how much trouble you just caused?"
Evelyn smirked. "Oh, you mean the teasing? That was going to happen anyway. You're the one who came in with 'mosquito bites' all over your neck."
Ji-Ah's face burned. "That's not the point!"
"Then what is?" Evelyn asked, tilting her head.
Ji-Ah opened her mouth, then closed it, frustrated. "I have an image to maintain. I can't just—"
"Be human?" Evelyn cut in, raising a brow. "News flash, Ji-Ah. You're allowed to have a life."
Ji-Ah clenched her jaw, annoyed at how easily Evelyn could throw logic at her. "You could've at least texted."
"Would you have told me to come?" Evelyn asked.
Ji-Ah stayed silent.
Evelyn grinned. "Exactly."
Ji-Ah groaned, giving up. "Fine. You're here now. What do you want?"
"Lunch."
Ji-Ah stared. "You interrupted my day because you wanted lunch?"
Evelyn shrugged. "You skipped breakfast. Figured you'd be hungry."
Ji-Ah blinked, her frustration faltering for a second. She noticed?
Evelyn smiled like she already knew what she was thinking. "So? Are we going, or do I have to drag you?"
Ji-Ah sighed, shaking her head. "You're impossible."
Evelyn chuckled. "Let's go, boss lady. Your 'mosquito bites' aren't going to heal if you starve yourself."*
Ji-Ah rolled her eyes but grabbed her coat anyway. "Fine. But you're paying."
Evelyn smirked. "Deal."*
Ji-Ah sighed as she slid into the restaurant booth, rubbing her temples. "I can't believe I let you drag me here."
Evelyn sat across from her, completely relaxed. "It wasn't that hard. You're easy to convince when you're hungry."
Ji-Ah shot her a look. "I wasn't hungry."
"*Right.**" Evelyn smirked, nodding toward the menu. "So, are we pretending you didn't eye the food on the way in?"
Ji-Ah ignored her and focused on the menu. "Just order quickly. I don't have all day."
"Of course, CEO Ji-Ah." Evelyn teased, waving over a waiter.
The food arrived faster than expected, and as soon as Ji-Ah took her first bite, she let out a quiet sigh. She had been hungry—not that she'd admit it.
Evelyn smirked, watching her. "Told you."
Ji-Ah scowled. "Can you eat instead of staring at me?"
"Nope." Evelyn propped her chin on her hand. "Watching you enjoy the food is better."
Ji-Ah huffed but focused on her plate. Maybe if she ignored Evelyn, she'd stop being annoying.
Spoiler: she didn't.
Halfway through the meal, Ji-Ah's phone buzzed. A message from Kang Seo-Jun popped up.
Kang Seo-Jun: "Lunch date? With Evelyn? Damn, no wonder you were late today."
Ji-Ah nearly choked on her drink. "This is your fault!" she hissed at Evelyn, showing her the message.
Evelyn just laughed. "Oh no. People know we had lunch. The horror."
Ji-Ah glared. "You enjoy making my life difficult, don't you?"
"A little." Evelyn grinned. "But mostly, I just like spending time with you."
Ji-Ah froze for half a second before quickly looking away. "Shut up and eat."*
