By the time they got home, Ji-Ah had calmed down, but she was still holding onto the last bit of her stubbornness. Evelyn, on the other hand, was determined to break through it.
Ji-Ah kicked off her shoes and headed straight for the couch, grabbing the remote to put on a drama. Evelyn followed closely behind, watching her like a hawk.
"You're really gonna ignore me all night?" Evelyn asked, plopping down beside her.
Ji-Ah didn't reply, simply turning up the volume.
Evelyn smirked. "Alright, then."
She suddenly stretched her arm over Ji-Ah's shoulder, casually pulling her closer. Ji-Ah tensed but didn't push her away. Encouraged, Evelyn leaned in and whispered, "You know, you're making it really hard for me to be a good fiancée right now."
Ji-Ah gave her a sidelong glance. "You weren't exactly behaving earlier."
Evelyn chuckled. "Okay, okay. But I have been good for the past hour. Doesn't that count for something?"
Ji-Ah sighed. "That depends. Are you going to behave now?"
Evelyn grinned. "Absolutely not."
Ji-Ah rolled her eyes, but a tiny smile played at her lips.
Evelyn scooted closer. "Babe, you missed me, right?"
Ji-Ah didn't answer.
Evelyn nudged her. "Right?"
Ji-Ah exhaled and finally muttered, "Maybe a little."
Evelyn gasped dramatically. "A little? That's it?"
Ji-Ah bit her lip, trying not to laugh. "Yeah."
Evelyn squinted at her. "You're such a liar."
Ji-Ah shrugged. "Guess you'll never know."
Evelyn huffed. "Fine. I'll just have to prove how much you actually missed me."
Ji-Ah raised a brow. "And how exactly do you plan to do that?"
Evelyn smirked. "Oh, I have my ways."
And with that, she launched a sudden attack—grabbing Ji-Ah's waist and tickling her mercilessly. Ji-Ah shrieked, bursting into laughter as she tried to escape, but Evelyn held her close, grinning triumphantly.
"Say you missed me!" Evelyn demanded.
Ji-Ah shook her head, gasping between laughter. "Never!"
Evelyn tickled her harder. "Say it!"
"Eve—stop—" Ji-Ah was laughing so hard she could barely breathe.
Evelyn smirked. "Not until you admit it."
Ji-Ah finally gave in, breathless. "Okay! I missed you! Now stop!"
Evelyn immediately stopped, grinning in victory. "Knew it."
Ji-Ah sat up, still catching her breath. She playfully shoved Evelyn.
Evelyn just grinned wider. "You love me."
Ji-Ah huffed but didn't deny it.
Evelyn leaned in closer. "And you really, really missed me."
Ji-Ah groaned, covering her face. "I regret everything."
Evelyn laughed and pulled her into a hug. "No, you don't."
Ji-Ah sighed but eventually hugged her back. "Yeah… I don't."
Evelyn smirked. "I win."
Ji-Ah groaned, but Evelyn just held her closer, content that all was finally right between them again.
Ji-Ah sighed, shaking her head. "Just don't embarrass me in front of my mom again."
Evelyn chuckled. "I'll try my best—but you know I can't resist when it comes to you."
Ji-Ah groaned, but Evelyn just pulled her closer, content that all was finally right between them again.
