An Unexpected Encounter

Chapter 10

Ana's POV

I stared at the woman that had just walked into Marcus' office, she was drop dread gorgeous. My eyes subtly scan her from head to toe, everything she was putting on screamed expensive.

" Marcus baby, I missed you." She walked across the room and wrapped her hand tightly around Marcus. Marcus stood there frozen like he had just seen a ghost or something.

" Aren't you happy to see me?" She asked but got no reply from Marcus. He released himself from her grip and walked away, giving a reasonable distance between the both of them. I could feel the tension in the room so I decided it was best for me to leave.

" Miss Miller, stay." I stopped on my track silently praying he wasn't asking me to remain in this tension filled room with him.

" This won't take long and we would get on with our meeting." He said with a tone of finality. What meeting? I looked at him confused.

" She probably have work to do and we have things to catch up on." The woman said as she walked towards Marcus with a smile.

" Catch up on? Daisy what are you doing here?" His voice sounded neutral but I could detect a hint of anger in it.

" I missed you baby and I came back." She was back within close proximity with him, she ran her fingers from his cheeks down to his jaw. They stood there staring into each others eyes, Marcus looked like he was lost in the oceans of her eyes. I have never seen him let his guard down so easily.

Who was this woman and what was her connection with Marcus? Marcus clenched his jaw before tearing his eyes from hers.

" Daisy leave." He said in a firm tone.

" But Marcus, baby I came back for you, I came back for us."

" Daisy leave before I call the security to escort you out."

" That won't be necessary, I'll see myself out." She huffed in anger before she walked out of the office.

As soon as Daisy walked out of the office, Marcus let out a deep breath, his shoulders sagging slightly.

" Are you alright?" I asked

" Ana you have work to get back to, you may go." I couldn't fully wrapped my head around how Marcus Blinge acts. One minute he wants me to stay next minutes he wants me out.

Well it is definitely not my business, I wonder why I keep being concerned about him.

The rest of the day went by pretty fast and soon it was time to go back home. I stood in front of Marcus' office door trying to contemplate if I should take permission before going or I should just leave. I've never been a personal assistant so I had no idea what to do.

While I was still contemplating the door open revealing Marcus.

" How long have you been standing here." He asked with us eyes narrowing.

" Not long." I said quickly stepping aside so he could pass.

" Is the minutes of the meeting ready? Hope you have sent a mail to all our clients and partners regarding the company annual gala?"

" Yes sir, all done."

" You're dismissed." He said before he walked to the elevator. I let out a sigh of relief immediately he was gone. I quickly packed up my things ready to go.

" Ana!" I turned around to see who it was.

" Jolene! How are you doing?" I said excited to see her since she was literally the only person I talk to at work.

" I'm fine, working Mr Blinge isn't that bad right?" She said and nudged me a bit. If only she knew the attitude from him I had to put up with.

" Not at all." I said with a small smile. " That's nice. Any plans for the weekend?"

"Well, just the usual, do my laundry properly clean up around the house and just get lost in a good book." I said already day dreaming and looking forward to the weekend.

" That's pretty boring." I looked at her horrified. "No trust me it's not."

" Well suit yourself, I and some work colleagues are going over to a bar tomorrow evening. You can join us when you eventually get bored." I rolled my eyes at her.

" Bye." I said as we part ways at the gate. I was about to hail a cab when a sleek black car pulled up in front of me. It was Burnley.

" Hey Burnley, how are you?" I said excited to see him.

" I'm very well Miss Miller, Mr Blinge asked me to drive you home."

" Don't worry Burnley, I can find my way."

" No please Miss Miller. Mr Blinge would be pissed if I left you all by yourself." I could see the fear evident on his face. I shouldn't be the reason this innocent man would lose his job.

" Ok." I opened the door before sliding into the car. I stared out the window admiring the city and how busy it was. Everyone was trying to get home to enjoy their weekend. Finally we were at the penthouse. I walked into the house and I felt a bit sad to be greeted with darkness. A part of me had hoped that Marcus was going to be here.

I striped out of my work cloth, then got into the bath tub. It felt so relaxing and refreshing. I heard a knock on the door, it was probably the pizza I ordered.

" I'm coming. I yelled as I wore the purple bathrobe and wrapped my dripping wet hair with a towel. I pulled the door open and it was indeed my hot cheese pizza being delivered. I took the box from the delivery guy and gave him a tip. Immediately I closed the door I heard another knock on the door. Who again?

I pulled the door open and my eyes widened at the person that was before me.

It was the woman from this morning.
