Spying on Golak Mayar (II)

A few minutes later, Ursa found himself heaving a sigh as a warm feeling from the drink he just ordered engulfed his body. The waiter was right, it was crazy for him to go for a sundae on such a breezy day. A hot chocolate was definitely a better option here.

Speaking of the waiter, though, he didn't know what to think about her. She knew what he was doing right now was borderline illegal, yet she gave him tips and even encouraged him as if she wanted him to succeed. And her last answer when he asked why she didn't want to report him also concerned the boy.

'No one likes parliament? Why? While yes, some of them could be bad, in the end, they are chosen by the people too, right? Why would no one like their choice?'

[It is because being a member of parliament is like being a celebrity, Host. No one will remember the good things they did, but one mistake is enough to destroy their career. Unfortunately, being so close to power and money also doesn't help, since it is human nature to be greedy. In the end, the commoners will also get tired when all those members of parliament keep making mistakes or involving themselves in a crime, which is why the trust for the parliament and the government also plummeted in the last couple of years.]

Ursa was shocked at the answer given by the system. However, it would be a lie if he said he didn't expect something like this. After all, the members of parliament were all politicians, and if there was anything he knew about them, it was that politicians were always slippery and good at breaking their promises with a smile on their faces. They could say one thing today and do a completely opposite of what they were saying in the future and no one would be surprised about it. That was how low their reputation was in the eyes of commoners like him.

[Don't worry, Host. You will have a chance to expose their doubled-face and hypocritical nature. For now, let's focus on your target first.]

Ursa nodded, putting his focus back on his objective. He waited patiently for about half an hour while also trying to put the faces who came and left the building to the back of his head, saving it for when he would need it in the future. Still, even after waiting for so long, he still couldn't see his target at all.

'Man, it would be a waste if he wasn't here.'

Fortunately, his patience was finally paid off, when five minutes later, a limousine suddenly arrived in front of the building, and a bald man with a fancy tuxedo and dark sunglasses got out of it. Just right after he left the car, that bald man was swarmed immediately by so many reporters with mics and cameras pointed at his face. Ursa could see that the bald man was annoyed as he was delayed from entering the building.

'So, that's Golak Mayar, huh? I need to get closer.' He rose from his seat hurryingly, went to the cashier, and put seven silver coins on it. "Here. Please, keep the change. I need to go quickly."

"Sure! Good luck and be careful around him!" The waiter shouted as he dashed off to blend with the reporters there.

"Mr. Mayar, please share your thoughts about the latest scandal!"

"I heard that you've paid so many gangsters to intimidate the people living in the east so that they would leave their complex! Is that true?!"

"What do you think about the accusation Lawyer Hasan throws at you?!"

"Mr. Mayar, please share your thoughts!"

Ursa was stunned for a second at how fiercely the reporters attacked Golak Mayar. Honestly, looking at the man's struggle to escape from the crowd, he felt pity for a second, before that feeling disappeared when he remembered that the bald man was the one who instigated Aliyya's kidnapping accident. Still, this was the first time he watched how reporters worked, and it would be a lie if he said he wasn't afraid of it.

"They really are a group of vultures."

However, this kind of crowd was definitely benefiting him more. He didn't have to have full-level stealth to mix with the crowd, just standing there and letting those group of vultures push and shove him around until he was right in front of Golak Mayar himself. This kind of operation was so magical that Ursa himself wouldn't believe it if he wasn't the one who experienced it.

'Shit! Okay, I am here. I need to be quick!'

Praying that his full-level stealth worked, Ursa tried his best to put a small phone that was connected to his phone to Golak Mayar's briefcase. He could feel his heart pounding when the bag's zipper stuck and couldn't be opened forcefully without letting the people around him notice his presence. Fortunately, he was already halfway from opening the briefcase, so the hole that was made was still enough for him to throw the small phone he brought as quickly as possible, and just after that, he let himself be pushed away from the bald man by the crowd.

'Man, that is so close.' Ursa wiped the sweat on his face, feeling like his heart was about to explode. 'Now, let's check if something like this would work.'

Honestly, the method Ursa used to spy on Golak Mayar could be described as simple and primitive. Before coming here, he bought two old-version phones that had a smaller size, then called one with another before putting one of them in Golak Mayar's briefcase. This would at least ensure that he could still hear the situation on the target's side. Or… So that was what he thought.

[Host, in the next mission, please, use proper equipment. This is outrageously embarrassing.]

Ursa paused whatever he was doing immediately, too stunned at the comment thrown by the system. 'Oh, God! My nightmare has just come true! My system is snarky and sarcastic! Now, I can say goodbye to my peace!' He moaned in horror.

[Don't be dramatic, Host. You are the man chosen by the will of the world, so please, maintain your image by using proper equipment.]

'Why would I need to maintain my image if the only one who knows about you is me? Also, this is just because the mission is too sudden! You know that to buy surveillance equipment, I need permission from the police! And you also know I don't have any hacking ability! This is the best way I can do with my current situation, you know?! If you can give me more time to prepare, I am sure I can do better!'

[Well… The system has never set any date as the deadline for the mission. So, technically, Host could complete it next year and there will be no problem at all.]

That… Was true. Ursa deadpanned, having the urge to cover his face and cry in embarrassment. This was completely his fault. Instead of taking his time to think and prepare more properly, he jumped into the gun immediately as if there was no tomorrow. For acting like a hot-headed stupid teenager, he had no one but himself to blame here.

However, before he could say anything, the earphone connected to the phone in Golak Mayar's briefcase suddenly buzzed, and before he could realize what happened, a shout from the other side made him jump in surprise.

"Fuck it!"

BRAK!
