'Shit, shit, shit! This is bad! This is so fucking bad!' Ursa started panicking right now. He didn't even notice the concerned gaze the waiter sent to him. 'What do I do now?!'
[Calm down, Host. This is also your opportunity here.]
'My fucking opportunity to what? To get killed sooner?' He snarked heatedly, not caring to think of how rude he just sounded.
[No, Host. If you are calm enough and play it smart, you won't get killed and he would never have a chance to touch even a single hair of yours.]
'Yeah, yeah, you are right. I need to be calm and play it smart. Okay, okay, I can do this.' He slapped his own cheek a few times, trying to wash away all of his nervousness. 'Okay, system, what do you propose here?' Asked the boy once again.
[Well, right now, you have two options, Host. First, since you know that sooner or later, he will visit your bar, you can just wait for his presence there and prepare in advance so that when he finally arrives, you can greet him accordingly.]
Ursa had the biggest 'Are you fucking kidding me' look on his face when he heard that. After all, what kind of preparation could he do to gain any advantage against the champion of freestyle fighter like Vahd Diran? Hell, even knives or any short-range weapon would be useless since the other man was a professional fighter who probably had a way to deal with that situation. The only way he could think of was firearms, and that shit was not something he could get in a day or two.
[No, Host, what the system means is not a preparation to fight, but to deceive him. Like, what kind of story would you give to convince him that you have nothing to do with the kidnappers, what will you do to remove any traces of the two kidnappers from your place, something like that.]
Ursa could feel the heat rise on his cheek at the helpless tone the system gave to him. Inwardly, he cursed his luck while questioning, 'Since when did this system turn so sassy like this?!'
After a moment, he coughed awkwardly before asking again, "So, what is the second option?"
[Host can be more proactive by following his investigation closely. This way, even though it has a bigger risk, Host could see how a professional works, and Host would also be able to figure out who Golak Mayar's informants were and where they usually operated. Also, Host would have a chance to figure out where he hides the ledger they mentioned before.]
'Hmmm…' Ursa pondered for a second, not giving the answer immediately. 'Be honest with me, System, what is the probability of me being discovered if I followed the second plan?'
[There is about 65 percent probability that Host would be discovered in about 45 minutes or so.]
'Even with the full-level stealth and this windbreaker?'
[Positive, Host. Even all of those attributes would be useless when Host faces a real master.]
While the high percentage of being discovered surprised him, he paid more attention to the fact that the system confirmed that Vahd Diran was some sort of professional. Even though it was hard to believe, he knew the system wouldn't deceive him. Still, investigation skills were not something that someone could learn autodidact, so, for Vahd Diran to be able to hide from where he learn how to do that even in his resume told him how good he was at his job.
Now, Ursa was at a crossroads. Of course, he could follow the first scenario that the system told him, and he would be safe as long as his acting skills were good enough. However, the benefit he would get from the second scenario was too much for him to give it up just like that. After pondering for a while, he finally decided, 'Okay, let's do the second one.'
[Are you sure, Host?]
'No, I am not sure.' Ursa admitted. 'However, being passive is not my style. I would rather risk my life and gain something rather than just sitting around and waiting for my death.' Of course, it was just a false bravado. If anything, he just wanted to go back home and hide under his thick, comfy blanket. However, he knew it was a rare chance for him to see how a professional works, and since he knew this wouldn't be the last time he did an espionage mission, he needed this experience.
'Oh, he is finally on the move!' Ursa widened his eyes when he saw a tall, young man with a scar on his cheek come out of the building. From all the images of Vahd Diran he had seen on the Internet, the scar on the cheek was the most unique characteristic the man had, making it easier to identify him from afar. "Here, Miss! Thank you for the drink!" He handed several silver coins to the counter once again before dashing off quickly, not wanting to lose track of the man.
"Good luck with whatever you are doing! Come here again when you need a quiet place to do this again!" The waiter shouted as he walked away from the café.
As Vahd Diran walked slowly through the busy business district, Ursa took a good distance so that he wouldn't be discovered so easily by the man. Fortunately, that man decided not to go with the car, or this operation would be impossible.
When Vahd Diran hopped on a subway train, Ursa took his time so that it wouldn't be too obvious that he was following the man, but still catching the same train so that he could keep eyes on him. They traveled west until Vahd Diran got off the train, and of course, Ursa followed him closely. As time passed, he felt more and more anxious and kept asking a question to himself, 'Where is he going?'
Just as they were about to enter another small alley, Vahd Diran suddenly stopped walking, and Ursa did the same while trying to use his full-level stealth to hide his presence immediately. However, the next thing that man said was enough to make his heart sink.
"Hey, little rat, the hide-and-seek game is over. Til when will you follow me?"
Ursa could feel all the color drained from his face. The man didn't even turn around to search where he was right now, but by his steady and calm voice, Ursa knew he was exposed already. That was when he realized, to his shock, that he had followed the man in circles and now, they were just one alley away from the parliament building where they started.
'So, I have been discovered from the start?! Fuck!'
