When 25-year-old Onezwa Mthethwa loses her husband, Qhawe, in a brutal tragedy, her world is shattered. In accordance with traditional customs, her family arranges for her to marry Qhawe's older brother, Mcedisi - a notorious gangster with a reputation for ruthlessness. Faced with the prospect of becoming his second wife, Onezwa makes a daring escape on the eve of their traditional wedding.
