Chapter 5 – Leveling Up Before Playing Student

Step 1: Get Stronger. Step 2: Blend In. Step 3: Don't F*cking Die.

After discovering my ability to steal strength and abilities from people I bite, I decided on my next move—

✔ Test this sh*t on monsters.

✔ Find a town to lay low.

✔ Sneak into the academy to blend in.

Sounded easy enough.

Except for the part where I almost got mauled, poisoned, and eaten alive.

But hey. Progress.

---

Monster Hunting – My First Real Fight

I found myself deep in the woods, searching for the perfect monster to test my new ability.

And like a f*cking idiot, I didn't start small.

No slimes. No weak wolves.

I went straight for a giant, mutated f*cking bear.

Why?

Because I hate myself, apparently.

---

The F*cking Bear Incident

The beast towered over me, its black fur bristling, bloodshot eyes locked onto me like I was a goddamn snack.

I grinned. "Come on, you oversized carpet. Let's see what you got."

The bear roared—and immediately tore through a tree with a single swipe.

I blinked. "...Oh, sh*t."

---

The Fight – Strategy? What's That?

✔ Dodge left.

A massive claw missed my head by inches.

✔ Roll forward.

Barely avoided a crushing stomp.

✔ Try to attack.

My strike bounced off its hide like I was attacking a f*cking rock.

"Oh, COME ON!"

The bear swung again. I barely dodged, but it clipped my shoulder, sending me flying into a tree.

Pain shot through me. Okay. Not great.

But then—

That weird hunger kicked in again.

And suddenly, I wasn't just dodging.

I was seeing openings.

Like some predator instinct had turned on.

Now we're talking.

---

Counterattack – Drinking the Damn Bear

The next time it attacked, I didn't dodge.

I sidestepped, jumped—

And sank my teeth into its f*cking neck.

Blood rushed into my mouth like pure, burning energy.

Power flooded my body.

For a few seconds, I felt unstoppable.

With newfound strength, I grabbed its f*cking arm mid-swing and twisted.

CRACK.

The bear roared in agony.

I grinned. "Not so tough now, are you, you furry bastard?"

It tried to **swipe at me again—**but this time, I ducked and struck back.

BOOM.

The beast collapsed.

I wiped my mouth, panting.

"F*ck yeah. Who's the apex predator now?"

---

New Skills & Stats Update

The system flickered in my vision.

---

[Blood Absorption Successful!]

✔ +5 Strength (Absorbed from Mutant Bear)

✔ +3 Endurance (Absorbed from Mutant Bear)

✔ New Ability: Beast Instincts (Passive) – Enhances reflexes and danger sense.

✔ New Ability: Berserk Mode (Locked Until Mastery)

---

I grinned. "Oh, this is gonna be fun."

Now that I proved my ability worked on monsters—it was time to move to Step 2.

---

Disguising as a Random Guy – The Perfect Crime

I reached the town near the academy but quickly realized—

✔ I was still f*cking wanted.

✔ I couldn't just waltz in as Leonis Veldra.

So I did the logical thing.

I jumped a random rich-looking dude in an alley, knocked him out, and bit him.

Just a little.

Enough to copy his face.

Then I stole his ID, wallet, and became the new him.

Problem solved.

I checked my reflection in a shop window.

I now looked like some generic rich noble with blond hair and a dumb noble face.

I sighed. "I hate this already."

But at least I was in.

Now all I had to do was stay low and not attract attention.

And then—f*cking Seria Argent walked past me.

---

Oh, You've Gotta Be Sh*tting Me.

Seria. The heroine. The one person who saw my real face.

She had just entered the academy as a new transfer student.

And now?

She was walking straight toward me.

I froze.

Our eyes met.

She stopped.

I internally panicked.

And then—she frowned.

---

The Heroine's Suspicion vs. My Bullsh*t

Seria squinted at me. "...Do I know you?"

I forced a polite smile. "I don't think so, miss."

"Are you sure?" she leaned in, scanning my face. "You seem really familiar..."

I laughed, forcing my noble act. "Oh, I just have one of those faces."

Seria narrowed her eyes.

I internally screamed.
