Eldwin’s Protection

Ruby was always perceptive, and in such a close distance, she could sense the rage from Eldwin.

So, she looked back cautiously. His eyes were still beautiful, but his gaze was sharp, frightening, and bloodthirsty.

It seemed like he was shooting daggers in every direction he looked. Ruby realized that killing with one's eyes wasn't just a metaphor in fiction. It could happen in real life! She didn't like this side of Eldwin or that gaze he had now.

She shook off his hands on her shoulders and retreated. She pressed her back against the car door. If it were not for the fact that the car was running, she would have opened the door and run away.

Also, she would have gone back on her word and stopped asking for his help to take down Travon. This man was too dangerous. She was worried that she would get killed before they took down, I ravon.

There were a total of five cars chasing after them. The road they were driving was not the main busy street, but it was still crowded with cars and pedestrians.

A car was chased by a few cars behind, and they were all driving fast. It looked just like the car chase in the movies.

Many cars gave way to them, and some pedestrians stood rooted to the spot to watch them with interest.

Eldwin was as calm as usual. It was not until he noticed Ruby's frightened look that he had some emotional fluctuation. He felt like a hand was fiddling with his heartstring, which made him uncomfortable. He wanted to say something but didn't know what to say. He moved his fingers slightly but didn't do anything eventually.

Ruby was scared by his gaze and hurriedly bowed her head, trembling involuntarily. She knew that trembling would make her look like a coward, but she just couldn't control herself!

"Are you scared of me?"

"Huh?" Ruby was so nervous that she didn't hear what he said.

She tried to move backward again, but there was no place for her to retreat. With no other choice, she turned her face away and closed her eyes. She sensed something cold on her chin. It was Eldwin raising her chin with his fingers.

Eldwin approached and whispered in her ear slowly, "You are scared of me."

His voice was soft and creepy as if the voice of a ghost. Ruby held her breath and trembled more severely, her eyes staring. Seeing that, Eldwin took a deep breath.

Before he could do anything, there came a loud bang, and the car was bumped by something on one side. It was on Ruby's side. Eldwin stretched out his long arm and held her in his arms. If it wasn't for him, Ruby's spine would probably have been broken.

Ruby's face bumped against his stiff chest, and she looked up in a panic.

"Bang!" There was another collision, and Ruby buried her head in his chest again.

Eldwin tightened his grip to press Ruby closer to himself. When he felt that she was about to move again, he pressed her head and said, "Don't move. Let me be your meat cushion!"

Ruby was surprised.

What did she just hear? The man said that he wanted to be her meat cushion.

"The car that hit us just now came out of a small path. I think there will be some more coming," said Sanders in a calm voice, without a hint of panic.

Ruby was curious about the man in the front, wondering why he could stay so calm.

It seemed that she had missed the reaction of the man holding her.

She tried to lean forward, and Eldwin loosened his grip. He just loosened his grip but did not let go of her. His long arms were still around her waist, in case she fell.

Ruby had stretched her neck long enough to take a good look at Sanders. Sanders was handsome.

He had slightly curly hair, thick eyebrows, deep eyes, and an aquiline nose. Just like Eldwin, he was a mixed-blood.

But most of his facial features took after his western ancestors, except his eyes, which had the oriental charm.

Compared with Eldwin, his face was less exquisite, and he didn't have Eldwin's noble and powerful aura.

But he was a little bigger and stronger than Eldwin, looking quite manly. He was wearing a black suit and a special tie, which was of the same color as Eldwin's blue eyes. The blue tie, white shirt, and black suit were a beautiful match.

"Should we ditch them now? There are just two of us. If they catch up, I'm afraid..."

Sanders knew that a pair of big eyes were looking at him. He jerked his head back as he talked.

He was looking at Eldwin, but his action made Ruby shiver. Eldwin pulled Ruby back.

Without the distraction of Ruby, Sanders started to think carefully. With Eldwin's and his martial skills, they usually wouldn't be worried even if they were outnumbered. But now, Ruby was with them.

Eldwin was holding Ruby in his arms, which suggested that he wanted to protect her. And the best way to protect her was to ditch the cars behind.

However, Eldwin replied coldly, "No. We are on a crowded street. There are many people and cars around. If we try to ditch them, they will race with us. Innocent people might get hurt in that case. I will find a way out."

He was worried about hurting innocent people? Ruby was shocked by his words once again.

With her head pressed by Eldwin's hand, she could not move much. She could only peek at his chin and Adam's apple. Eldwin took out his mobile phone from his trouser pocket and made a phone call.

"I'm turning on the GPS. Send me five military aircrafts. I want them here in ten minutes."

He put down the phone and ordered Sanders, "Go to the south district right now, the development zone. And turn on the GPS of the car."

"Okay!" Sanders was distracted just now because Eldwin just asked for five warcrafts!

Five warcrafts!

Back then, Eldwin had only used three warcrafts when wiping out a small country.

Today, he was using five warcrafts to deal with a few cars. Was it because of this girl...?

Ruby was indeed the reason why Eldwin had deployed five warcrafts. He was not using them to eliminate the enemy, but to prevent her from getting frightened.

Only after the five warcrafts arrived would Sande rs find out what was in Eldwin's mind.
