LET'S CLAIM THE FIRST SPOT AGAIN!!! (OR TOP 3(OR TOP 5(FINE!!! TOP 10)))

---

That evening, I was lying on my bed, scrolling through my phone, when a notification popped up.

Blood Bitch: "Ryuu~~ How cold-hearted you can be 💔🥺 You haven't called me for so long~! 😘💉"

I stared at it, then checked the chat log.

...Oh.

I had at least 300 unread messages from her. The last one I responded to was weeks ago. She had been texting me at least twenty times a day… sometimes more. I scrolled through the last few messages. Most were variations of...

"Ryuu, did you miss me today? I missed you today! 🩸💕"

"Ryuu, what would you do if I broke into U.A. just to see you? 😘"

"Ryuu, I had a dream about you! We were covered in blood! Isn't that romantic?"

"Ryuu~~ Are you ignoring me? 💔 I might just die from heartbreak… or kill someone instead! 😜"

Jesus.

I let out a breath, tossing my phone onto my chest. I had been ignoring her. I wasn't even trying to avoid her on purpose… I just forgot. Between school, training, and dealing with the endless bullshit that was my life, she had just… slipped my mind.

But she clearly hadn't forgotten.

My phone vibrated again.

Blood Bitch: "Ryuu~~ If you don't answer, I might have to find someone to cut! 😏 (Just kidding! Stabbing isn't as fun when it is not you! 🔪💖)"

I rubbed my face. If I didn't respond, she might actually do something insane.

Me: "Bitch. I am alive. Relax."

A reply came instantly.

Blood Bitch: "RYUU!!! 💕 I knew you wouldn't abandon me! Hehehe, I was starting to think you forgot about me! 😘"

I sighed.

Me: "You were texting me every day. I just got busy."

Blood Bitch: "Too busy for me? That is not very romantic. 😢 What if I show up at U.A.? I bet your teachers would love that! 💖"

That was a genuine threat. She would do it.

Me: "Do not!"

Blood Bitch: "But I miss youuu~~ 🥺 Remember our date? You were so cute! And the way you kissed me~! 💋💉 It was the best!"

I frowned at the screen. Yeah. That was… something. I only took her out because I needed information on Chisaki at the time.

Blood Bitch: "Heyyy~ You are taking too long to reply! You are thinking about me, aren't you? 💘 Or maybe you are blushing~!"

Me: "I am sighing."

Toga: "Sighing because you miss me? Awww~ You are adorable! 😍"

I groaned. There was no winning with her.

Me: "What do you want?"

Toga: "Silly question! I want you, obviously~! But I also want to see you. Meet me? Please? Pretty please? With blood on top? 🩸😇"

I should have ignored her. I should have.

Instead, I found myself typing…

I knew this was a mistake. Every part of me said to shut the phone off, go to sleep, and pretend she didn't exist.

But… she was useful.

Me: "Where?"

It was immediate.

Toga: "Eeeee~! Ryuu, you do love me! 😘 Same place as before. In an hour. You better not make me wait~!"

I sighed, tossing my phone to the side.

...I was about to make a really bad decision.

I slipped out of the dorms… I looped the cameras using a reflective patch I rigged last month. Aizawa would kill me if he found out, but he wouldn't. I jumped over the walls, into the streets, hands in my pockets. The air was sharp, the kind that stung the skin but kept your mind clear. I wasn't sneaking out for fun. This was business. Toga was a useful connection when it came to the League and their allies. That was it. Just another resource.

…Right?

I clicked my tongue and kept walking.

The meeting spot was the same rundown alleyway as last time. Dim lighting, damp concrete, a place where people minded their own business. I leaned against a wall, waiting.

A giggle echoed from above. "Ryuu~!"

I barely had time to move before a weight crashed into me.

Toga.

She clung to me, arms tight around my neck like I was some long-lost lover. "You really came! I was worried you were done playing with me."

I pried her off. "Not here to play. What do you have?"

She pouted, still hanging onto my arm. "So cold! I missed you, you know."

"Information, Toga."

She huffed but didn't let go. "Fine, fine~ But only because you are cute when you are serious."

I rolled my eyes. "Talk."

She finally stepped back, rocking on her heels. "The League's been busy. Dabi's been setting up his own thing… side projects. I think he is getting tired of Shigaraki."

"Power struggle?"

"Maybe~" She twirled a knife between her fingers. "But it is not just him. There's been talk of a new player. Someone outside the usual circles."

I narrowed my eyes. "Who?"

She shrugged. "Dunno yet. But Shigaraki is interested, and when he is interested, it usually means trouble."

Great. Another headache. "Anything else?"

Toga tapped her chin. "Mmm… Maybe. But I don't feel like giving it away just yet."

I sighed. "Of course you don't."

She grinned. "You know how this works, Ryuu~ If you want more, you gotta make it worth my while."

I exhaled through my nose. "What do you want?"

Toga didn't wait for an answer. She threw her arms around my neck, her grip as tight as a vice, like she was afraid I would vanish if she let go. "Let's have our date first," she said, rocking forward on her toes. "We can talk about business later."

Her lips crashed into mine. Not soft, not slow… greedy. She almost bit down, probably out of habit, but stopped herself at the last second. She knew I would get mad if she did. Instead, she pulled back to whisper, "Oh, how I want to suck your blood from those lips."

I exhaled through my nose. "You say that like it is romantic."

She grinned. "It is! Blood is everything! It is love! It is life! It is you and me, Ryuu~!"

I rolled my eyes, but she didn't let me go. "Where are we going?"

Toga tilted her head. "Hmm… What about somewhere fun? We could sneak into a fancy restaurant, pretend we are important people."

"That is called identity theft."

She giggled. "Only if we get caught!"

I sighed. "Pick something less likely to end in police involvement."

She pouted. "Fine~ Then let's go to an arcade! I wanna see if you are as good at games as you are at playing with my heart."

I gave her a flat look. "That was awful."

She beamed. "But you love it."

I ignored that and started walking. "C'mon."

She grabbed my arm, swinging it as we walked like this was the most natural thing in the world. "Ooooh, Ryuu, do you like horror games? Or should I beat you in a shooting game?"

"You can try."

Toga grinned like I just challenged her to a duel. "Then it is a date!"

The arcade was loud, filled with neon lights and the sounds of buttons mashing. It was the kind of place where nobody asked questions. Good. I didn't need questions.

Toga dragged me straight to a zombie shooter, practically bouncing in place. She leaned in way too close, inhaling like a goddamn bloodhound.

"Let's kill things together!"

I picked up the plastic gun, stepping a little to the side so she would stop breathing directly on my neck. "Sure. But if you start moaning when you shoot, I am walking out."

Toga giggled. "Aww, Ryuu~! You know me so well!"

Unfortunately.

The game started, and Toga immediately started blasting, cackling like a lunatic every time a zombie's head exploded. I wasn't bad either, but she was hitting every shot like a psychopath with a lifetime of practice.

"Hey," I said, reloading. "You played this before?"

She didn't even glance at me, still unloading headshots like a damn professional. "Nope!"

She leaned back against me, pressing into my chest like it was the most natural thing in the world. Before I could shove her off, she grabbed my arms and wrapped them around herself to adjust her aim, guiding my hands toward the gun's trigger.

Her ass rolled against my lap.

I inhaled sharply. "Toga, don't test me."

She let out a small giggle, shifting just slightly… enough to make sure I noticed. "Oh, Ryuu~ I need your help~"

I gritted my teeth, hands twitching in hers. "You need Jesus."

She finally looked up, eyes glinting with amusement. "Is that your way of telling me to pray harder or that you wanna be my savior?"

I looked at the ceiling. "Oh god."

Toga pressed back just a little more, like she knew exactly what she was doing. Her breath tickled my neck, warm against the arcade's cold air. "Ooooh, Ryuu, are you praying for divine intervention? Should I be offended?"

I grabbed her by the shoulders and put some distance between us, setting her in place with her hands on the game's controls. "Play the damn game."

She laughed, picking up the plastic gun again, but she didn't step away. "Alright, alright~ But if I win, you owe me."

I sighed. "Sure."

Toga being Toga, she made it her mission to win. She didn't just play… she demolished the game, her score shooting past mine like she had been training for this her entire life. Each time a zombie's head exploded, she let out a satisfied hum.

I could feel her glancing at me between kills. "Thinking about something?" she asked, without stopping killing the damn zombies.

I reloaded. "Thinking about how you have too much free time."

She giggled. "You are just mad I am better."

I ignored her, finishing the round. It ended with her in first place and me in second. Not bad, but I would rather be dead than let her gloat. She turned to face me, leaning in with a smirk. "You owe me."

I exhaled through my nose. "Yeah, yeah. What do you want?"

Her fingers curled around my wrist. "I will show you."

I let her lead me through the arcade, past the rows of machines and flashing lights. We passed a couple making out near a claw machine, and I had a sinking feeling about where this was going. Sure enough, she stopped at a supply closet, pulling the door open with a mischievous look.

I raised a brow. "This is not an arcade game."

She pulled me in by my hoodie. "It is if we play right."

The door shut behind us.
