Once the initial shock wore off, a wave of excitement took over. The ride home was filled with joy, but they both felt slightly overwhelmed by the news of triplets. Their argument from the night before seemed silly, overshadowed by the life-changing revelation.
After they got home, Bobby took Sophia's hand, leading her inside. As soon as they walked through the door, they saw their parents and Lena sitting in the living room, faces filled with worry. Before they could even say anything Evelyn spoke
"What did the doctor say?" her eyes darting between them. "Is everything okay?"
Sophia exchanged a quick glance with Bobby, who was already smiling. "Everything is more than okay."
Bobby couldn't hold back his excitement. "We're having triplets!"
The room went silent for a second before exploding into happiness. Evelyn gasped, tears filling her eyes as she hugged Sophia tightly. "Oh my God! Triplets! that's amazing!"
Elena piled in, wrapping her daughter in a hug and laughing with joy. "I just know you're going to be an amazing mom, Sophia! And I can't believe we're going to be grandparents already!"
Richard put his hand on Bobby's shoulder, his face filled with joy. "Three grandchildren at once, Bobby you've outdone yourself!"
Henry let out a low, chuckle, shaking his head with pride. "I should have known. well anyone can handle triplets, it's you two."
Lena jumped up, grinning widely as she hugged her brother tightly. "I can't believe I'm going to be an aunt to triplets, I'm so excited!"
Bobby laughed, hugging Lena back. "good you can help us babysit."
After their family left they informed their friends, who immediately came over to celebrate.
Naomi, Jenna, Caroline, Marcus, and Drew arrived bringing snacks, drinks, and a few gifts, ready to celebrate. The dining room table filled with plates of food and sparkling cider as laughter echoed throughout the house. Sophia sat on the couch, surrounded by her friends, each bombarding her with questions and playful teasing.
""So, triplets?" Naomi grinned, giving her a playful nudge. "Couldn't just go for one and call it a day, huh?"
Sophia laughed, shaking her head. "Guess not. But honestly? I'm over the moon."
Caroline smiled mischievously. "You know, now you'll have three adorable reasons to stay home. Plus we don't have to fight over who will be the baby's godmother"
Jenna nodded, smiling warmly. "Seriously, though, you're both going to be amazing parents. Those babies will be lucky to have you."
Sophia blushed softly, warmth filling her chest. "Thank you, guys. I couldn't ask for a better group of friends."
Across the room, Bobby stood chatting with Marcus and Drew, his eyes continuously drifting over to Sophia.
"Man, triplets?" Drew laughed, shaking his head. "You're officially gonna be the busiest CEO in Manhattan."
Marcus chuckled, elbowing Bobby playfully. "You ready to swap late-night business meetings for diaper changes?"
Bobby smirked, eyes softening. "Absolutely. There's nothing more important and you both know how I thrive under pressure."
Marcus raised his glass, grinning widely. "To Bobby, Sophia, and their future sleepless nights!"
Everyone laughed and raised their glasses in a toast, the room erupting into congratulations.
As the night wound down and their friends left Sophia and Bobby finally got a quiet moment alone. She curled up into his arms on the couch, feeling secure. The house, now quiet again, seemed to hum with a cozy, peaceful vibe.
Bobby placed a soft kiss on her head, his voice low and gentle. "I'm still sorry about last night. I should've kept my cool and handled things better."
Sophia gave a small smile, shaking her head. "It's alright, Bobby. I understand. The only thing that matters now is us, and our family. Let's leave the past in the past."
He let out a quiet breath, relieved, and nodded. "I just want you to know I do trust you."
"I know," she murmured, her hand moving to her stomach, picturing what was ahead. "And I promise nothing will come between us—not Daniel, not work, not a damn thing."
He smiled warmly, placing his hand gently atop hers. "We've got a whole new adventure ahead of us."
Sophia leaned closer, resting her head against his chest, comforted by his steady heartbeat. "And we'll face it together."
They sat there quietly, wrapped in each other's arms, dreaming about their future—filled with late nights, family gatherings, and the unconditional love of their children.
In that moment, they felt unstoppable—ready to face whatever life threw at them, confident that as long as they had each other, nothing else mattered.
The following weeks rushed by in a blur. Bobby and Sophia were quickly adapting to the idea of becoming parents. After the initial excitement settled down, reality began to kick in. Preparations for their expanding family suddenly became a top priority, especially with their already demanding work schedules.
Sophia now 18 weeks pregnant had a noticeable bump, and she glowed with happiness as she sat in her office. She was absorbed in reviewing documents for a new project when her father knocked on her office door.
"Sophia, do you have a moment?" Henry asked.
She looked up, smiling warmly. "Of course, Dad. Come in."
Henry Lancaster stepped in, carefully closing the door behind him before settling into the chair across from her. He paused briefly, his expression a mix of pride and worry. "I want to talk about how things will change now that you're expecting."
Sophia set down her pen, feeling a flicker of worry. She loved her work—she didn't want anyone to think she couldn't handle it. "Dad, I know it'll be challenging, but—"
He held up a reassuring hand, cutting her off gently. "That's not what I meant, Sophia. I don't doubt your abilities. In fact, I've never been more impressed with your work ethic than these past few weeks."
Her heart swelled with pride. "Really?"
"Absolutely," Henry said softly, sincerity filling his voice. "But being a parent also changes your priorities. Trust me—I know from experience."
Sophia softened, nodding gently. "I know things will be different. Bobby and I have talked about it. But I'm committed to finding a good balance."
He gave her a big smile. "Good. Because I want you to know, whatever adjustments you need—flexible hours, remote work, additional help—you'll have it. Family comes first, Sophia. It always will."
Relief flooded her as she smiled gratefully. "Thank you, Dad. That means a lot to me."
Henry stood, reaching out to squeeze her hand gently. "You're going to make an incredible mother, just as you've become an incredible leader here. I'm proud of you."
She felt tears pricking her eyes, overwhelmed by his sincere praise. "Thank you."
After he left, Sophia leaned back in her chair, smiling softly as she rested her hand on her growing belly, silently promising her babies that she'd always put their well-being above all else.
Meanwhile, Bobby was equally busy balancing Knight Industries and preparations for fatherhood. Today, he'd blocked out part of his afternoon to go shopping with Sophia, knowing she was eager to start getting things ready for their babies.
The high-end shop they'd chosen was both charming and elegant, filled with beautiful nursery furniture, adorable outfits, and everything expecting parents would need.
Sophia's eyes lit up as they walked hand-in-hand through the store, excitement clear in her voice. "Oh, look at this crib set. It's so adorable."
Bobby laughed, watching her happily inspecting the delicate linens and matching pillows. "Sophia, at the rate you're going, we're going to need another house just for baby items."
She shot him a playful glare. "Triplets, Bobby. Remember? That's three cribs, three high chairs, three of everything."
He chuckled, pulling her close and kissing her forehead. "I know. I can't wait."
They continued through the store, selecting beautiful furniture sets, nursery decorations, and numerous baby essentials. With each decision, their excitement and anticipation grew.
"Are you feeling okay?" Bobby asked softly, noticing Sophia pause, her hand gently rubbing her belly.
She smiled warmly, nodding. "I'm fine. Just feeling kicks again."
His eyes widened in amazement. "Really? Right now?"
She took his hand, placing it gently on her stomach. After a moment, Bobby felt the faint but definite movements beneath his palm.
His eyes filled with awe and emotion. "That's incredible, Sophia. I still can't believe we're really going to be parents."
She smiled tenderly, squeezing his hand. "Neither can I. But it feels right."
Bobby's gaze softened lovingly. "Absolutely perfect."
After shopping, they returned home tired but happy, eager to relax. As they settled onto their couch together, Sophia glanced thoughtfully at Bobby.
"I've been thinking…" she began gently.
He turned slightly, giving her his full attention. "About what?"
"I know we've both been buried in work lately," she continued. "But I think we should set some boundaries before the babies arrive. Maybe cut back on late nights. I want to prioritize us as a family."
Bobby immediately nodded, sincerity clear in his eyes. "You're right. I've been thinking the same thing. The company's important, but you and our babies will always come first. We need to start making adjustments now, while we can."
She felt relieved by his understanding. "Exactly. And we need to promise that if things get tough, and we're ever overwhelmed—we communicate, okay? No more fighting or misunderstandings."
He smiled warmly, brushing his hand gently against her cheek. "I promise. We'll talk openly."
Sophia leaned in, resting her head against his shoulder, comforted by his warmth. Together, they made their vows—not just as partners, but as future parents. No matter what happened, they'd try their best to face everything as a team.
Later that night, Sophia fell into a deep, peaceful sleep, Bobby stayed awake, pulling her into his embrace, letting his mind wander over the life they were planning together. He knew the road ahead would be challenging with three babies, demanding careers, and countless unknown obstacles—but he felt confident. Together he believed they could handle anything.
He looked down at her sleeping face, a smile tugged at his lips. "I'll do everything I can to make sure you have a happy life," he whispered, voice thick with affection. "I promise."
