Chapter 4: Ollivander's Wand Shop

Light watched as Hagrid and Harry were led into the vault by a goblin.

Recalling the original plot, the gold coins piled up like a small mountain were truly enviable!

As Light's thoughts were scattered, he suddenly remembered that Quirrell, possessed by Voldemort, had appeared at The Leaky Cauldron.

Was he planning to launch an attack on Gringotts in a while, getting ready to steal the 'Philosopher's Stone'?

Thinking of this, Light became even more interested and started looking around restlessly and curiously. At the same time, he was also wondering if the Philosopher's Stone could provide him with Mileage Points.

"Light, we've got everything. Hagrid is waiting for us at the entrance to go shopping together."

Harry's voice woke up Light, who had started to zone out while waiting.

Light came to his senses, answered, and then walked towards Hagrid at the entrance.

Seeing the two of them coming together, Hagrid began to say, "The first thing to do when becoming a wizard is to get a wand. This is also the most important thing for us to come here."

As he spoke, he led the two of them to a shop. The storefront was shabby and tiny, and there was a wand lying on a cushion in the window at the entrance.

And the sign above the door read, "Ollivander. Makers of Fine Wands since 382 BC."

Hagrid pushed open the shop door and bent down to enter. The doorbell was tinkled, and Light and Harry entered the store following the crisp sound of the bell.

The space inside the store was cramped. Apart from the counter and a bench, there were thousands of slender boxes housing wands. The boxes on the shelves were stacked up to the ceiling, looking as if they hadn't been properly tidied up.

At this time, an old man with white hair silently emerged from behind the shelves, as if he had materialized out of thin air. In the dim store, the old man seemed to be faintly glowing, as if he were the only source of light in the store.

Hagrid, seeing the boss appear, said in a loud voice, "We've come to buy wands. Both of them are new students at Hogwarts."

After saying that, he introduced to Harry and Light, "This is the boss of the wand shop, Mr. Ollivander."

Ollivander looked at Harry and Light, who were almost squeezed together by Hagrid, and said, "Hagrid, you wait at the door first! I'll pick the right wands for them."

Hagrid had no objections and bent down to go out.

With Hagrid going out, Light and Harry didn't have to be squeezed together anymore.

Then the two greeted Ollivander, "Hello, sir. I'm Light Rogers."

"Hello, I'm Harry Potter."

Ollivander nodded and said, "So who will go first?"

Harry looked at Light uneasily. Seeing this, Light spoke up first, "I'll go first."

Ollivander looked at this scene and couldn't help but smile and said, "Then Mr. Rogers will go first! Don't worry, there's no danger."

"Come on, hold out your hand." Following Ollivander's instructions, the tape measure in his pocket automatically flew to Light's side and began to take various measurements.

First, it measured the length of his arms, legs, and waist. Later, it even measured the distance between his eyes and the distance from his neck to the top of his head.

After the data was measured, Ollivander began to ask, "Which is your dominant hand?"

"Right hand." he replied.

"Try this one!" A box flew over.

"Eleven and two-thirds inches, walnut wood for the wand shaft, and unicorn tail hair for the wand core."

As soon as Light laid his hand on the wand, Ollivander snatched it back.

"This one's not it!"

"Then try this!" The wand shaft is made of the Whomping Willow, and the core is a dragon's heartstring.

Light took the wand and waved it like in the movies. Sparks burst out from the top of the wand.

"Absolutely not. This one won't do either."

This time, the wand emitted light waves, leaving a big black mark on the counter.

"What about this one? The wand shaft is made of cedar wood, and the tail hair of a Thestral (a winged, skeletal horse visible only to those who have witnessed death) for the core."

Light picked it up and waved it again. With a bang, the wand was sent flying directly.

After trying five or six wands, some didn't show much reaction, while others had a reaction that was too strong. Some were basically suitable, but there was always a sense that the Magic Power couldn't flow smoothly.

Light could feel that his Magic Power didn't quite match these wands.

Although he had tried many times, Ollivander didn't show the slightest bit of boredom. It was as if he was doing the happiest thing in the world.

And Harry Potter, who was standing beside, didn't feel the slightest bit of boredom after seeing all the crackling special effects.

After trying a few more wands, they still didn't find the right one.

Ollivander didn't seem to have encountered such a tricky wizard before, and he became even more eager to bring out wands.

Suddenly, the stone stele in his mind vibrated, and a piece of information came.

"Complete the mileage mission 'Exclusive Wand' and earn 1 Mileage Points."

As the information came in, a newly arrived box caught Light's attention. He could clearly sense something different even before laying eyes on the wand.

Ollivander opened the box and began to introduce: "The wand shaft is made of ebony, and the core is made of a giant's tendon. It's twelve inches long."

When Light got the wand, he felt that the mobilization of Magic Power was extremely smooth. With a gentle wave, colorful light burst forth from the wand, illuminating the shop.

Seeing this, Ollivander also showed a smile.

"It seems you two are a perfect match. Most of the owners of ebony wands I've encountered are extremely firm, have pure thoughts, and possess their own will."

"I hope you can grow together and not let each other down."

"Sounds just like a wedding," Light thought to himself, feeling rather speechless.

Seeing this, Harry Potter exclaimed excitedly, "Great! Congratulations, Light. What about me? What about me?"

Ollivander said with a smile, "Let's start now!"

Light walked to one side and watched as Harry Potter went through the procedure. Just as in the original book, Harry Potter also obtained his twin wand made from 'phoenix tail feather'.

Ollivander looked at the lightning scar on Harry Potter's head and then at the wand in his hand.

He began to sigh, "Perhaps this is destiny!"

Harry Potter looked confused, while Light calmly watched this scene from the original book.

"So, the total cost is 50 Galleons! Will you pay together or separately?" Ollivander asked with a smile.

"Separate," Harry Potter, who originally intended to pay together, didn't say a word after hearing Light's request.

Holding his own ebony wand, Light walked out of the shop with Harry Potter. Hagrid was standing right at the door, as if he hadn't left at all.

When Hagrid saw the two of them coming out, he quickly asked, "Got the right wands, right?"

Hagrid led Harry Potter and Light to Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions, where they could get custom-made school robes.

Hagrid still waited at the door.

Light frowned when he saw the price of the custom-made school robes. He originally thought the grant he received was quite a lot, but now it seemed it might not be enough!

After Harry Potter got his measurements taken, seeing that Light hadn't done so, he asked, "What's wrong, Light? Aren't you going to buy a school robe?"

Light shook his head with a smile. "I'll buy a second-hand one. I don't have much money with me."

Suddenly Harry Potter said, "I can pay for you. I'm quite rich."

Light looked at Harry Potter, who was being so serious, then patted him on the shoulder and said, "Thanks a lot, but I have my own thoughts!"

Seeing this, Harry Potter could only give up.
