Chapter 5: The Secret Meeting

Emily grabbed my arm and pulled me away from the old oak. We ran across the quad, our footsteps echoing in the silence.

As we reached the safety of the dormitory, Emily stopped and turned to me. "I'm sorry about that," she said, breathlessly. "I didn't mean to put you in danger."

I shook my head. "What's going on, Emily? Who was that in the bushes?"

Emily hesitated before answering. "I don't know for sure, but I think it might have been a member of the Order."

My eyes widened. "The Order of the Raven?"

Emily nodded. "Yes. They're a secret society that's been hiding in plain sight at Ravenswood Academy for decades."

I felt a chill run down my spine. "What do they want?"

Emily's eyes locked onto mine. "They want to keep the truth about Ravenswood Academy's past buried. And they'll stop at nothing to achieve their goal."

Suddenly, I heard footsteps coming from the hallway. Emily's eyes flicked towards the sound.

"We have to go," she whispered. "Now"
