Lauren's voice crackled through the comm. "We've got company!"

Shade moved fast, throwing on his gear, grabbing his weapons. Jade was right behind him, already loading her gun.

Outside, dozens of Vultures surrounded the safehouse.

Selene stood at the front, smirking, arms crossed. "Come out, Shade. It's time we finished this."

Shade exhaled. "She just had to bring a small army."

Jade smirked. "Guess you're popular."

Shade's grip on his gun tightened. "They don't want me dead."

Jade frowned. "Then what do they want?"

Shade's voice was ice.

"They want to own me."

Jade's breath hitched.
