Aina exhaled slowly, trying to calm the storm raging inside her. The battle had left her drained, yet Azriel's words stirred a deeper unease. The balance of the realms? A crisis tied to her? She had spent most of her life struggling to find her place—now the world was telling her she had one, whether she wanted it or not.
Tok Rimau shifted, wincing as he pressed a hand to his injured shoulder. "If you truly are Azriel Dzulqarnain, then you must know what Persatuan Gerhana is after."
Azriel's expression darkened. "They seek the Seal of Gangga, a relic lost to time—until now."
Aina frowned. "The Seal of Gangga? What is it?"
Azriel glanced at her, then gestured toward the surrounding jungle. "Walk with me."
She hesitated before nodding, following him down a moss-covered trail. The damp air smelled of earth and lingering battle, but the night was eerily silent now. Tok Rimau limped behind them, his hand never straying far from his Parang Seligi.
Azriel continued, "The Seal of Gangga was once wielded by the last warrior-king of Gangga Negara. It was said to be a key—a bridge between the world of men and the realm of spirits. With it, a person could summon legions from beyond or even rewrite their fate." He turned his golden gaze to Aina. "And Persatuan Gerhana has uncovered its location."
Aina's chest tightened. "So, they want to use it to control spirits?"
Azriel's lips curled slightly. "Control? No. They want to break it."
Tok Rimau cursed under his breath. "If they shatter the seal, the barrier between realms will collapse."
Azriel nodded grimly. "And every forgotten nightmare of this land will be free to roam once more."
Aina swallowed. She thought back to the Jembalang—the raw malice in its eyes, the way it had moved like a creature born only to destroy. If the seal was broken, would spirits even worse than that be unleashed?
She clenched her fists. "Then we can't let that happen."
Azriel studied her for a moment before smirking. "You catch on fast."
Tok Rimau groaned, stretching his arm. "Then we have no choice. We head for the ruins of Gangga Negara."
Aina felt the weight of the moment settle in her bones. The road ahead was dangerous, but there was no turning back now.
Her fate had been decided.
And if she had to step into the darkness to stop Persatuan Gerhana, then so be it.
