The remaining people, because of Scarlett's comment, "Black and white stuff is too depressing, I don't want to dance," tore up all the black and white mourning banners at Melody's funeral and dumped the offerings in front of my daughter into the trash.
I desperately tried to stop them, not wanting my daughter to see this scene even after death.
Scarlett shoved me to the ground, saying, "Stop stealing other people's husbands in the future, or you won't have enough daughters to die."
My amputated arm struck the hard floor, sending a bone-chilling pain to my heart.
I could only tightly hug Melody's memorial tablet and ashes, enduring the pain as I left.
As soon as I went downstairs, passing by a room, I saw Genevieve naked, entwined with , saying:
"Brent, why don't we spread Melody's ashes under Scarlett's dance floor? That road hasn't been paved yet anyway."
Brent hesitated, "But... that doesn't seem right. We should just buy a plot in the cemetery to settle Melody."
Genevieve's hand moved downward, teasing him, "Come on, baby. It's cost-effective and eco-friendly. Don't you love me anymore? You never listen to me..."
"Okay! Okay!"
Brent's voice grew hoarse as he pounced on her, unable to control himself.I retch in disgust, turning to leave with Melody.
Brent, you're an animal!
I walk for who knows how long, cradling Melody, when Genevieve suddenly appears behind me.
While I'm distracted, she knocks the urn of ashes to the ground.
She smugly stomps on the scattered ashes again and again:
"You thought you could take your daughter's ashes back? She deserves to be scattered on the ground, trampled underfoot. That's what you get for falling for the same man!"
"This is what happens when you don't know your place and marry Brent. You thought you could use a child to tie him down? All I had to do was have my daughter pretend to be disabled to get all his love."
"Want to see photos of her knee joint being cut open while she was still alive? Too bad you couldn't hear her crying for mommy because it hurt so much."
I can't help but try to grab the phone from her, but she suddenly drops to one knee.
Immediately after, Brent slaps me hard across the face, leaving an instant blood-red mark.
Brent supports Genevieve as he turns to me in rage: "Seraphina! What are you doing?! Why would you hurt her?!"
Genevieve's expression fell:
"I accidentally bumped into her daughter's ashes, but it wasn't on purpose. She cursed at me though, accusing me of seducing you, calling me a filthy whore. She even said my daughter was stealing the spotlight at the funeral, making her daughter unhappy. She forced me to kneel down and apologize to her daughter."
"I don't want my daughter to steal the spotlight either, but our girl is just naturally exceptional. I can't stop that, you know..."
His face instantly turned ashen, his eyes blazing with anger as he glared at me. "Her daughter was a thousand times better than yours! How can you be so petty?"
"And she made you kneel down to apologize? I told you that you scared her, why didn't you apologize to her? How can you be so shameless?"
"So what if your daughter's ashes were scattered? When someone's dead, they're just a pile of dirt. Why do you care so much?"
I sneered coldly, "Easy for you to say it's no big deal. You doesn't deserve to even speak about my daughter!"
