Prologue - Chapter 2 - Unknown Village

"What..what the hell is this..." Varian murmured. After he took a short break, a sudden voice interfere. "Please enter your name." Varian was left speechless, he didn't want to make any assumption about the voice he heard earlier was coming from the system or not.

"Please enter your name." The voice repeat itself. Varian was hesitated for a moment until he came with a unique name. As he was about to tell the name he wants to be called, "Aetherion Lysandre, come here you fucking coward, you'll be a dead meat once I catch you!" A voice coming from the North, running into his direction.

Varian was left speechless for a moment, his instinct told him to back off but something inside him is telling him to stay and watch who the person is. Varian waited for the person to came into his place for about 2 minutes. "Ah so long..where the hell does that person went?" Varian sighed. As he was just chilling around the area, an axe was thrown towards him. Before Varian could react, a tall woman with long red hair appeared before him. She was wearing a long sleeved black turtleneck-like shirt and a long silver pants.

"State your name." The woman said. The axe that was thrown by her earlier was missed on purpose. Varian felt an uneasy feeling about this woman as if she was going to kill him or not, depends on himself. Varian didn't spoke and left the atmosphere to awkwardness. The woman sighed and said "Are you lost? It's literally 4 in the morning, come let me lead you to the nearest village." With that, the woman starts walking, expecting the boy to follow her.

As they was walking, Varian finally spoke "Va-" but then, they heard a sound of movement in the bushes. The woman made a terrifying face towards where the sound was heard. she then walk to the bushes and catch something behind it. "Ahh let go of me you old punk!" A voice that is totally not belong to the woman screamed. The woman lifted a skinny yet miserable little boy from the bushes. "So this is where you're hiding huh!" The woman said in harsh toned.

"GAHH, HELP ME STRANGER" The boy was pointing at me and cried loudly. Varian ignored the request from the boy and pretending as if nothing was happening in front of him. "Are these to siblings..." Varian murmured. After about a short amount of time passed, Varian cut the argues between those two "Uhh..can we continue our trip..? The situation has gotten a little quite as the woman turns to face Varian.

"Ah..i'm sorry for my rudeness..i was completely forgot about your existence..." She then released the boy from her grip. "Let me make this clear, once i'm done with you. Forget everything that happened, me, this boy, and our encounter" "ya ya ya i know how this will end urgh" Varian thought. Varian nodded.

The woman leads the way for Varian to follow her. The tension between 3 of them is unbearable, no one has ever spoken since the trip started. The sun was raising when they arrived at the village, Varian's eyes were widen the whole trip because he never ever saw a world that is so different from his world. "Here we are.." The woman finally broke the awkwardness. "T-thank you." Varian said slowly as he continue to examine the village with his eyes.

A sudden thought came to his mind, "i forgot to ask you one question miss..what's your name..?" The woman stared at Varian for a moment and answered "You're not from this place are you? My name is Seraphis Lysandre, what about you young man?" Seraphis said with a terrifying gaze. "What..what should i say? Should i tell her my name or..." Varian thoughts were filled with that single thing.

"Ah well, it doesn't even matter." Seraphis sighed. "Take care" She took a last glance at Varian's eyes. She saw the hesitant and an unknown feeling about him. "Is this guy poor?" Seraphis thought. "Lend me your hand." Varian eyes were widened. He then just followed her order. With that, Seraphis gave him 10 pieces of small objects. The small things were made out of gold and has a symbol of moon on it.

"Use that to sleep in the cheapest rent house over there." She points at the middle of the village. "But..what are these..?" Varian replied. Seraphis didn't give any respond to his reply for a moment. "Are you that poor?" Seraphis broke the silent. "This is the currency that we're using all over Nytheris, also known as Lumora" Seraphis explained. "Ah..okay.." Varian spoke. Seraphis sighed and nodded to him before she leaves Varian alone.

"So the world i'm living right now is called Nytheris huh.." Varian thought. Varian's eyes were focused on the path to the rent house that was mentioned by Seraphis earlier. He felt a sudden urge to sleep due to his lack of consciousness however, he managed to entered the rent house and asked the landlord to book a room. The landlord was hesitated whether to let him book a room or not but then he remembered that he really needs a lot of money to pay for his debt.

Varian entered his room with a gentle pull on the door handle. Of course, the room was a little bit messy with a bunch of dusts on the floor but to Varian, this was more than enough. "The cost to sleep per night is 3 Lumora..is it that expensive or am i that poor.." He then lay on the bed and place his hands behind his head to support him as a pillow. "There's no time to think about all of these things." Varian's eyes blinked for the last time before sleepiness controlled his body. The atmosphere was peaceful for him to sleep, each second feels like an eternity. "NO, MY CHILD!" A sudden scream was heard by him while he's still sleeping. "urgh..what is this noise.." Varian murmured. He then opened the windows in her room and saw a complete chaos happening before his very own eyes.
