Kikidori stirred as the first rays of sunlight peeked through the dorm window. He groaned, shifting slightly—only to realize something warm and tiny was still lying on top of him.
Haruna.
Still half-asleep, he blinked down at her. Their faces were way too close, her soft breaths barely brushing against his chin. Her cat ears twitched slightly, her tail lazily flicking across his stomach.
For a moment, he just lay there, staring blankly.
Then, with a loud meow, Haruna's golden eyes fluttered open. She blinked once, twice—then stretched her arms out like a sleepy kitten, her tail swaying behind her.
"Mmm… morning, Kiki," she mumbled before lazily crawling off his chest.
Kikidori exhaled. "You need to stop using me as a bed."
She smirked, her voice still groggy. "But you're so warm."
He rolled his eyes and sat up. "Whatever. Just don't—"
Before he could finish, Haruna stood up, stretched again, and then—without a single ounce of hesitation—started pulling her shirt off.
Kikidori barely had time to react. "Oi! Warn me before you start stripping!"
Haruna blinked at him, tilting her head. "Why? It's not like you care."
He groaned, covering his face with his hands. "That's not the point, dumbass!"
Meanwhile, Haruna just kept undressing like it was nothing, her tail swaying as she switched into her uniform. "You're acting like we haven't changed in the same room for years."
Kikidori sighed. She wasn't wrong. They had been dormmates for a long time, and at this point, neither of them gave a damn about stuff like that.
Yet.
He shook that weird thought out of his head and got dressed as well. Within minutes, they were both ready for another day of school.
As they stepped out of the dorm and headed toward class, Kikidori already had a bad feeling.
And his gut was never wrong.
Because the moment they turned the corner—
There they were.
The usual pack of assholes.
A group of seniors who had nothing better to do than make his life hell just because he was friends with Haruna.
"Well, well," one of them sneered, cracking his knuckles. "If it isn't the cat-lover and his little pet."
Haruna sighed dramatically. "Ugh. You guys again?"
The leader of the group, a tall guy named Renji, smirked. "You know, Kikidori, you could still hang with us if you just ditch the freak."
Kikidori clenched his jaw. "Fuck off."
Renji scoffed. "Figures. Always sticking by the stray."
One of the other bullies reached out and flicked Haruna's ear. She instantly hissed, her tail puffing up.
Kikidori snapped.
Before the guy could react, Kikidori grabbed his wrist—hard. "Touch her again, and I'll break your fucking fingers."
For a moment, there was silence.
Then Renji let out a low chuckle. "Damn. Didn't know you had that in you, Kikidori."
Haruna smirked, crossing her arms. "He's always been like this. You guys are just too dumb to notice."
Renji's smirk twitched, but before things could escalate, the bell rang.
"Tch. Whatever," Renji muttered, shoving his hands in his pockets. "This isn't over, cat-boy."
Kikidori rolled his eyes. "Yeah, yeah. Go find a hobby, dumbass."
The bullies walked off, leaving Kikidori and Haruna standing there.
Haruna sighed, flicking her tail. "Man, they're so boring."
Kikidori ran a hand through his hair. "You're way too calm about this."
She grinned. "Eh, I've got my bodyguard."
He groaned. "I'm not your bodyguard."
She poked his cheek. "You totally are~."
Kikidori sighed. This girl is gonna be the death of me.
