My Little Trouble Maker

Kikidori and Haruna were still perched on the rooftop, their legs lazily swinging over the edge. The school below buzzed with activity, but up here? It was peaceful. Quiet. Just the two of them.

The breeze was nice, ruffling Kikidori's hair and making Haruna's tail sway lightly behind her. She had inched closer to him at some point—not that he really noticed. Haruna was always close, always leaning on him, always acting like she had zero concept of personal space.

But then—

Haruna suddenly nuzzled her head against his shoulder, her ears twitching as she let out a small, content mew.

Kikidori froze. "…What the hell are you doing?"

She grinned, rubbing her cheek against his sleeve. "You're comfy."

He groaned. "You can't just start nuzzling people out of nowhere, Haruna."

She smirked. "Why not?"

"Because it's weird."

She huffed, flicking her tail. "You let me sleep on your chest last night."

"That was different! You were asleep!"

Haruna giggled, clearly enjoying his frustration. "Kiki, Kiki, Kiki~," she purred. "You love it."

He gave her a blank stare. "I tolerate it."

She grinned. "Same thing."

Kikidori sighed, rubbing his temples. "I swear, you're actually a cat."

Haruna smirked, tilting her head. "Wanna test that theory?"

Kikidori blinked. "Huh?"

Before he could react, she suddenly climbed onto his lap, sitting cross-legged while facing him, her tail wrapping around her waist.

His brain short-circuited.

"Oi—! What the hell are you—?!"

She held up a finger. "Shh. Science."

"What kind of fucked-up science is this?!"

Haruna just giggled, poking his cheek. "Relax, dummy. I'm just getting comfortable."

"You have a whole-ass roof to sit on, and you chose my lap?"

She grinned. "Yup."

Kikidori sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "This is why people talk about us, Haruna."

She waved him off. "People are just jealous they don't have an adorable cat-girl best friend who lets them be her personal furniture."

"That is not a flex."

She smirked, her golden eyes shining with mischief. "It is when you look this flustered."

Kikidori groaned. "You're gonna be the death of me."

Haruna just laughed, flicking his forehead before finally climbing off him. "And yet—"

"—I love having you around. Yeah, yeah, I got it," he muttered.

She beamed. "Damn right."

The wind picked up slightly, making her ears twitch. She stretched her arms above her head, letting out a soft yawn.

Kikidori sighed, finally relaxing again. At least she was off him now.

But still, as much as she got on his nerves, he had to admit…

Being up here, away from everything, just messing around like this…

Yeah. It wasn't so bad.
