Chapter 60: The Red-Hot Habanero

Having vented his frustration, Minato Namikaze exhaled over the fist he had just used to pummel Veigar.

"Huff, huff, huff."

"Even daring to tease his own teacher—this kid has some serious nerve. He definitely needs a little lesson."

"That felt great."

Minato cheered internally.

"Sensei, if you have something to say, just say it!"

Looking utterly dejected, Veigar muttered as he gazed up at Minato.

Minato hesitated slightly before speaking, "I'm taking you to meet someone. When you see her, I need you to explain where I was yesterday."

"Can you do that?"

Already guessing who Minato wanted him to meet, Veigar quickly nodded. "Got it."

Aside from Kushina Uzumaki, there was probably no one in Konoha who could make Minato this nervous.

"Alright, let's go!"

Minato turned and motioned for Veigar to follow.

A short while later, the two arrived at a cozy little house with a small courtyard. But instead of knocking, Minato simply stood there, looking dazed.

After a few moments, Veigar, unable to hold back any longer, turned to his teacher—who was lost in some dreamy fantasy, grinning like an idiot—and asked, "Sensei, aren't we going to knock?"

Minato shook his head and, with a slightly apologetic look, said, "We'll just wait here. She'll come out soon."

The Legendary Simp of the Shinobi World, Minato Namikaze, had arrived!

In Veigar's eyes, Minato at this moment resembled the most devoted bootlickers he had ever encountered—except he was on the lowest rung of the ladder.

"Sensei, if you don't knock, how do you expect her to come out?"

"You're not actually that dumb, are you?"

Veigar's complaint left Minato momentarily speechless before he finally replied, "She really will come out in a bit. Let's just wait."

No way...

Seeing Minato acting like this, Veigar could only sigh in resignation.

More time passed, yet the door remained closed. Bored, Veigar rolled his eyes before turning to Minato again.

"Sensei, can I ask you a question?"

Minato nodded. "Sure, go ahead."

Taking a deep breath, Veigar asked, "Sensei, is she your wife?"

"What does she look like? Is she beautiful? Is she nice to you? Is she gentle?"

What was supposed to be a single question turned into a rapid-fire interrogation.

Minato instantly found himself in an awkward predicament, stammering as he tried to respond.

That "Is she your wife?" question made his heart swell with happiness yet also left him feeling flustered.

"She…"

"I…"

Just as Minato was struggling with how to respond, the door suddenly swung open.

In an instant, Minato's face lit up with joy as he greeted the woman at the door. "Kushina, you finally opened the door!"

It was then that Veigar finally understood why Minato had been so confident that Kushina would open the door soon—he had already known she was standing right behind it.

Kushina's face was tinged with a faint blush. The moment Minato finished speaking, Veigar dashed forward and looked up at her with a sincere gaze.

"You must be Sensei's wife!"

"Good morning, Sensei's wife!"

"I'm Veigar. Please take care of me from now on!"

For a moment, Kushina just stared at him, before finally responding, "V-Veigar… Good morning!"

"I'm Kushina Uzumaki, nice to meet you."

"But I'm not your teacher's wife!"

Kushina, naturally bold and straightforward, quickly recovered from her initial embarrassment.

"You're not…?"

"Hmm, hmm, hmm…"

Just as Veigar was about to press the matter, Minato swiftly covered his mouth before he could say anything else.

Minato then turned to Kushina and explained, "This is one of my two students. Yesterday, he kept me busy, which is why I forgot… about that."

"So today, I brought him here to explain things to you."

The Yellow Flash, pleading for mercy online.

At this point, Veigar had pieced everything together.

Yesterday, Minato must have had a date or some kind of arrangement with Kushina. However, he had gotten sidetracked by training Veigar and forgot all about it, leading to Kushina getting angry—possibly even misunderstanding the situation entirely.

That's why Minato had dragged him here today—to clear things up.

Realizing this, Veigar finally understood why Minato had been acting so strangely all morning.

Releasing his hold on Veigar, Minato signaled for him to speak.

"Veigar, tell Kushina that I was training you yesterday."

Veigar instantly caught on and turned to Kushina.

"Sensei's wife, Minato-sensei was really training me yesterday. We were at Training Ground 44 the whole time."

Hearing this, Minato smiled in satisfaction, giving Kushina a look full of confidence.

But he failed to notice the way Kushina's expression was growing darker.

And then Veigar continued, sending Minato into a cold sweat.

"Sensei's wife, don't worry! I can vouch for him!"

"Sensei didn't leave in the middle of our training."

"He didn't go to see any other pretty ladies who aren't as beautiful as you."

"And he definitely didn't make you mad on purpose."

A girl in love is the most jealous creature in existence. The moment Veigar finished speaking, Kushina's face darkened completely.

"Didn't leave in the middle? Pretty ladies? Make me mad on purpose?"

Noticing her clenched fists, Minato quickly covered Veigar's mouth again, terrified of what else he might say.

But it was already too late.

Because Veigar had said enough.

And Kushina's jealousy had boiled over.

"Kushina, no! Let me explain—"

Just as Minato attempted to save himself, Kushina's rage erupted.

"Minato Namikaze, you bastard! Go to hell!"

Her delicate hands formed tight fists as she swung directly at Minato's chest.

"ARGH!"

Minato let out a cry of pain as he was sent flying.

The Red-Hot Habanero never failed to live up to her name, and Veigar could only stare at Minato's pitiful state in awe.

"That was brutal. I can't even bear to look."

"I'm outta here!"
