Chapter 28: A Villainess Trapped Between Two Menaces
Seraphina sat on her bed, frozen in horror.
Damian was already sprawled on the left side, arms behind his head, completely at ease.
Lila sat elegantly on the right, flipping through a book as if this was just another ordinary evening.
Seraphina?
She was in the middle.
Like a very unfortunate pillow.
"…This is a crime," she whispered.
Lila turned a page. "No, this is marriage preparation."
Damian yawned. "And it's quite comfortable."
Seraphina looked at them both. "Do you two have NO sense of personal space?!"
Lila smiled sweetly. "Nope."
Damian smirked. "Not when it comes to you."
Seraphina grabbed a pillow and whacked them both.
"OUT! OUT! OUT!"
Lila caught the pillow mid-air, her grip firm. "Seraphina, be reasonable."
"I AM BEING REASONABLE," Seraphina seethed. "REASONABLY ASKING YOU TO LEAVE."
Damian shook his head. "We already agreed—we can't let you escape again."
"I AM NOT GOING TO ESCAPE—"
Damian raised an eyebrow.
Lila smirked.
Seraphina gritted her teeth.
"…Okay, MAYBE I was considering it, but THAT'S NOT THE POINT."
Lila sighed, setting her book aside. "Seraphina, let's be practical. You've tried running three times. We can't have our bride getting lost in the streets."
"BRIDE?! WHO SAID I ACCEPTED?!"
Damian chuckled. "The moment you signed the engagement contract."
Seraphina froze.
"…WHAT CONTRACT?"
Lila smiled. "The one you signed last month when we gave you that 'peace treaty' to read."
Seraphina's soul left her body.
"…YOU SCAMMED ME?!"
Damian nodded, looking completely unbothered. "Yes."
Seraphina screamed into her pillow.
An Hour Later…
Seraphina had given up.
She was stiff as a board, lying in the middle of the bed, eyes wide open, mentally plotting a thousand ways to ruin their lives.
Meanwhile, Lila comfortably turned off the lamp, and Damian stretched, settling in.
The worst part?
They were both touching her.
Lila's arm draped over Seraphina's waist.
Damian's hand casually rested on her shoulder.
Seraphina's entire body tensed.
"…I hate this," she muttered.
Lila yawned. "Goodnight, dear."
Damian smirked. "Sweet dreams, love."
Seraphina lay awake all night, regretting every life choice that led her here.
