Chapter 43: A Villainess Tries (and Fails) to Avoid Her Admirers!
Step One: Hide (It Doesn't Work.)
Seraphina's grand plan was simple.
Avoid every single vampire male lead.
That meant:
1. No eye contact.
2. No conversations.
3. No accidental romantic moments.
Foolproof, right?
Wrong.
—
Step Two: Get Caught Immediately.
Seraphina tiptoed through the castle halls, keeping her head low.
Just as she turned a corner—
WHAM.
She slammed straight into a wall.
…Wait. No.
Not a wall.
A very tall, muscular, and suspiciously smug vampire duke.
Seraphina sighed.
Oh, great.
—
Step Three: Deal with Duke Damian's Nonsense.
Damian raised an eyebrow.
"Are you avoiding me, Lady Seraphina?"
Seraphina cleared her throat.
"Avoiding? Me? Pfft. No. I was just… uh… appreciating the architecture."
Damian glanced at the plain stone wall.
Seraphina internally screamed.
—
Step Four: Escape (Fail Again.)
Before she could make a run for it—
"Seraphina!"
Oh NO.
Seraphina turned.
Prince Alexander.
The charming, annoyingly handsome vampire prince was approaching fast.
WHY WERE THEY EVERYWHERE?!
—
Step Five: Witness a Very Tense Standoff.
Alexander stopped beside her.
His usual smirk deepened.
"How lucky. I was just looking for you, dear Seraphina."
Damian's eyes darkened.
"And why is that?"
Oh no.
They were doing it again.
The silent, intense, alpha male battle of death.
Seraphina sighed.
She could almost hear the dramatic violin music.
—
Step Six: Realize You Have No Control Over Your Own Life.
Seraphina held up her hands.
"Okay, let's all calm down. No one needs to fight—"
Alexander smirked.
"Who said anything about fighting?"
Damian smiled coldly.
"Yes. We're simply… discussing."
LIARS.
Seraphina could feel the aggressive, testosterone-filled vampire energy in the air.
She had to get out of here.
Fast.
—
Step Seven: The Ultimate Escape Plan.
Seraphina did the only thing she could think of.
She grabbed a random noblewoman passing by.
"LADY MARCELLA, IT'S SO GOOD TO SEE YOU!"
The noblewoman, startled, blinked.
"But I'm—"
Seraphina linked arms with her.
"Let's go have tea!"
She dragged the confused woman away.
Leaving behind two very irritated vampires.
—
Step Eight: Celebrate Your Victory (For Now.)
Once she was safely away, Seraphina collapsed into a chair.
The noblewoman, still confused, asked, "What just happened?"
Seraphina wiped imaginary sweat from her forehead.
"A life-saving maneuver."
Lady Marcella slowly nodded.
"Should I be concerned?"
"Always," Seraphina muttered.
She sighed.
For now, she was safe.
But for how long?
With her luck?
Probably five minutes.
