Chapter 48: A Villainess Goes on a Date (Against Her Will!)

Seraphina had survived assassination attempts, social ruin, and nobles screaming at her…

But this was a new kind of suffering.

She stared at the fancy restaurant, dressed in an elegant dark-red gown, and sighed.

"This is my personal hell."

Across from her, Prince Alexander smirked.

"You look lovely when you glare at me."

Seraphina picked up her fork like a weapon.

"If you don't tell me why I'm here in the next five seconds, I'll stab you."

Alexander chuckled, completely unfazed.

"It's our date, of course. You agreed."

Seraphina blinked.

"…When?"

"The day you threw a rock at me."

"THAT WAS NOT AGREEMENT. THAT WAS ATTEMPTED MURDER."

Alexander leaned in, resting his chin on his hand.

"Semantics."

Seraphina groaned and banged her head on the table.

Step One: Survive Dinner Without Committing a Crime

The waiter arrived with a ridiculously expensive-looking meal.

Seraphina poked at her food suspiciously.

"Is this poisoned?"

The waiter looked offended.

Alexander chuckled.

"If you were poisoned, I'd be the first to know."

Seraphina narrowed her eyes.

"That's not comforting."

Step Two: Avoid Romantic Situations (Failed Instantly)

Halfway through dinner, Alexander suddenly reached out and wiped something off her lips.

Seraphina froze.

Her brain malfunctioned.

WARNING: ROMANTIC MOMENT DETECTED. ERROR. ERROR.

"…Did you just touch my face?"

Alexander smirked.

"Would you prefer I used my lips instead?"

Seraphina threw her napkin at his face.

Step Three: Escape (HAHA, NO.)

After dinner, Seraphina attempted to run.

She got exactly three steps before Alexander caught her wrist.

"Not so fast, my dear villainess."

Seraphina turned slowly.

"Why are you like this?"

Alexander smiled.

"Charming? Handsome? Impossible to resist?"

"I was going to say 'annoying,' but sure."

Alexander laughed.

"I'll let you go after our final activity."

Seraphina narrowed her eyes.

"…What final activity?"

Alexander gestured behind her.

Seraphina turned—

And froze.

A ballroom.

Filled with nobles.

Watching her.

She turned back to Alexander.

"…You absolute MENACE."

Alexander grinned.

"Shall we dance?"
