Chapter 85: A Villainess Interrogates an Assassin (With Questionable Tactics)
Seraphina stared at the bound assassin.
He glared back.
Damian stood beside her, arms crossed, radiating menace.
Lucien, of course, looked utterly entertained.
Seraphina sighed and leaned forward.
"Okay. Who sent you?"
The assassin snorted.
"You think I'll talk?"
Seraphina raised an eyebrow.
"Oh, I know you will."
She pulled out a small, unassuming box.
The assassin scoffed.
"What's that? A torture device?"
Seraphina smirked.
"Worse."
She opened the box.
Inside were dozens of tiny, fluttering white moths.
The assassin froze.
His face went pale.
Seraphina tilted her head.
"You're not afraid of moths, are you?"
The assassin gulped.
"N-No."
Lucien leaned in.
"Oh, he is."
Seraphina smiled sweetly.
"Good to know."
Then, without warning—
She dumped the moths on him.
The assassin screamed.
Damian blinked.
"...That was unexpected."
Lucien laughed.
"I'm in love."
The assassin thrashed.
"OKAY! OKAY! I'LL TALK!"
Seraphina leaned back.
"See? That wasn't so hard, was it?"
The assassin trembled.
"It was Lord Ravenshire! He hired us to take you out!"
Seraphina raised an eyebrow.
"...Who?"
Damian frowned.
"Minor noble. Not very important."
Lucien smirked.
"But ambitious. Wants power he can't have."
Seraphina sighed.
"So now I have to deal with him?"
Damian nodded.
"Yes."
Seraphina groaned.
"I just wanted a peaceful week!"
Lucien chuckled.
"You're a villainess. Peace is not in your job description."
Seraphina glared.
"I hate this world."
Lucien smirked.
"And yet, you make it so entertaining."
Seraphina considered throwing him out the window.
