Chapter 86: A Villainess Confronts a Foolish Noble (With Style)
Seraphina stormed into Lord Ravenshire's grand estate.
She wasn't in the mood for games.
Damian walked beside her, brooding.
Lucien trailed behind, amused.
The guards at the entrance tried to stop them.
Seraphina smiled sweetly.
"Move, or I'll turn your employer into an unfortunate footnote in history."
The guards gulped and stepped aside.
Lucien whistled.
"That was impressively quick."
Damian nodded.
"Fear is efficient."
They marched straight into the main hall.
Lord Ravenshire was enjoying a glass of wine.
He looked up.
And paled.
"S-S-SLady Seraphina! What a surprise!"
Seraphina crossed her arms.
"Oh? A surprise? Because I recall you hiring assassins to kill me."
Lord Ravenshire choked on his wine.
"W-Who told you that?"
Seraphina smirked.
"A very helpful, moth-fearing assassin."
Lucien grinned.
"His screams were delightful."
Lord Ravenshire visibly trembled.
"I-It was a misunderstanding!"
Seraphina tilted her head.
"Oh? A misunderstanding? Hiring people to stab me was just an accident?"
Lord Ravenshire nodded frantically.
"Y-Yes! I swear!"
Damian cracked his knuckles.
"Shall I help him remember the truth?"
Lord Ravenshire turned even paler.
"N-No need! I admit it! I just wanted to remove an obstacle!"
Seraphina sighed dramatically.
"Oh dear. And here I was, hoping you had a valid reason."
She picked up his glass of wine.
Twirled it in her fingers.
Then dumped it over his head.
Lord Ravenshire squeaked.
Seraphina patted his soaked head.
"Next time, just send a fruit basket if you don't like me."
Lucien laughed.
"I adore you."
Damian rolled his eyes.
"Are we done?"
Seraphina nodded.
"Yes. He's learned his lesson."
Lord Ravenshire nodded rapidly.
"Yes! Lesson learned! No more assassins!"
Seraphina smirked.
"Good boy."
And with that, she turned and walked out.
Like the dramatic villainess she was meant to be.
