Chapter 88: A Villainess Sets Ridiculous Engagement Conditions
Seraphina wasn't just going to say yes easily.
No, no.
If Damian wanted her as his fiancée, he had to suffer first.
She delicately took a bite of her pastry, then leaned forward with a wicked grin.
"Well, Damian, if you really want me to be your fiancée, I have a few conditions."
Damian exhaled slowly.
"Of course you do."
Lucien was already grinning.
"Oh, this is going to be good."
Seraphina held up one finger.
"First—every morning, I want fresh pastries delivered to my room. The best ones. No stale nonsense."
Damian nodded.
"Fine."
Seraphina held up another finger.
"Second—I want a new wardrobe. Custom-made dresses, shoes, jewelry. Everything."
Damian sighed.
"Fine."
Lucien was trying not to laugh.
Seraphina smirked.
"And third…"
Damian waited.
Seraphina leaned in, her grin widening.
"I demand that you serenade me at least once a week."
Lucien snorted his drink.
"WHAT?"
Damian stared.
"You… want me… to sing?"
Seraphina nodded seriously.
"Yes. Preferably with dramatic violin accompaniment."
Lucien fell off his chair laughing.
Damian rubbed his temples.
"You are testing my patience."
Seraphina batted her lashes.
"Oh, dearest fiancé, what's an engagement without romance?"
Lucien was wheezing.
"I—Seraphina, you're actually evil."
Damian looked skyward as if begging for patience.
"If I do this, will you agree to the engagement?"
Seraphina pretended to think.
"…I suppose."
Damian gritted his teeth.
"Fine. But don't expect anything good."
Lucien was on the floor, still laughing.
"Oh, I am absolutely recording this when it happens."
Seraphina leaned back, victorious.
"Wonderful. This is going to be so entertaining."
Damian muttered under his breath.
"I regret everything."
