Kaelen has spent his life inside the Institution—an academy built to forge the Empire’s perfect weapon.
For fifteen years, he’s obeyed, excelled, and waited.
Now, the time to escape is near.
But beyond the Institution lies more than freedom.
As Kaelen begins to explore the remnants of a dying world, he uncovers truths buried in the layers beneath reality—where forgotten powers stir, and nothing is ever what it seems.
In life, there are countless things that we are bound to. Our blood, our surrounding, our body, our mind, our strengths, our weaknesses, and even our names. So little that we have control of, yet we all want things to change at some point. We get tired of the everyday routine and ultimately begin to feel trapped in our world. Kaelen, who lived his whole life in the Instiution knows what it feels like to be trapped. But, is he truly unfree? Sure, everyday seems to be the same with no sign of anything new, but he has the power to make a change. Whether it’s to run away, or to make a change with what’s in front of him by growing closer to those who’s bound to, I believe he’s still free to chose what his future can be. I wonder how this story will play out. Once Kaelen escapes this cage, will he end up within another one? Will he ever be truly free? Will whatever “freedom” he finds satisfy him? I guess I’ll have to keep reading to find out! Amazing first few chapters, I love the mc and the way the author writes is incredibly well done. The action scenes are described in a way that I can easily visualize them. I hope to see the author continue this story and only grow better as a writer!
