Scarlett's POV
"Oh no...no!"
I picked the wrong slope, obviously. Instead of using the beginner's slope, I lost track of the map and skied into the intermediate slope range.
I could see the railing in front of me, although several yards away. I panicked and tried everything to stop myself from crashing!
"Oh god!" I even tried to fall face-first to stop the momentum, but it wasn't working!
My tensed body refused to comply with me. According to the guidelines, I was to put my feet in a V to come to a halt. But the overwhelming speed at which I was gliding down the smooth snow took away my ability to think straight!
"AHH! HELP!" I screamed. I was zooming in so fast that I was barely audible to the skiers by the sidelines.
"Oh...ugh!" I even tried to shift my body sideways so the ski boards could go against the surface and bring me to a halt. But I was unsuccessful with that, too.
