Nathan's POV
I just had to stop the maid from going further with me.
I couldn't take it anymore. The heat flowing through my body was too strong, too consuming, and it wasn't for her.
Not the maid standing there, speaking words I barely heard, doing things that didn't move me in the slightest.
No, it wasn't for her—it had never been. She wasn't the one making me feel uneasy.
Even as she tried to inch closer, with her seductive looks and moves. I didn't want it, all I could think about was Evelyn.
It was Evelyn who clouded my thoughts, Evelyn who made my blood burn and my wolf restless.
Every step I took, from the dining room to the solitude of this room, she was there in my mind.
She was the only one I could see, she was irresistible.
I clenched my fists, trying to keep control as the maid moved closer again. Her scent wasn't what I craved; her presence wasn't what I needed.
