CHAPTER 57 Lost Control

  Evelyn's POV

I stood there, just outside his door, my hand hovering near the wood as I wrestled with what to do next since he still wasn't opening.

I didn't want to believe it what Ava said that he was seriously craving me.

Still, I stayed, hoping Nathan would open the door. Not because of Ava's voice in my head, but because I was worried.

He hadn't looked well at dinner, and now, he just didn't want to open.

I bit my lip and sighed, deciding to call his name one more time. Just one last time.

And if he didn't respond, I'd leave and go back to my room. I told myself that, even as my heart pounded louder with every seconds that ticked.

"Nathan," I called softly for the last time.

  Then I heard it.

The soft click of the doorknob turning.

My breath caught in my throat, and my heart started beating fast as the door creaked open.

And there he was, standing before me.

  Nathan.

His dark eyes just stopped on mine, and it made me freeze.
