Victoria's POV
Dominic pulled back abruptly, his chest heaving as though the kiss had taken as much from him as it had from me. The tension in the air thickened, and for a moment, neither of us said a word. His gaze bore into mine, searching, accusing, and perhaps even pleading.
I couldn't breathe. My chest heaved as I sat frozen, still feeling the ghost of his lips on mine. My fingers trembled as I pressed them against my swollen lips, trying to erase the sensation that lingered.
My heart pounded relentlessly, a drumbeat of confusion and everything caught in between. How could he do this? How could I let this happen again? My mind was a whirlwind of emotions, clashing and colliding until I could barely think straight. Anger, confusion, and something I refused to name all tangled together, choking me.
