As I pushed my way through the crowd, the man was still beating and kicking the woman.
"How the hell did I end up marrying someone like you? You can't even do a simple business transaction without giving me fake money. What good are you to me?"
The man cursed as he hit her, each word more vulgar than the last. The woman curled up into a ball, trying to shield herself from the kicks, crying and pleading for mercy.
"Stop it!" I shouted.
The man froze, turning to look at me. When he saw Lucas standing behind me, he seemed to calm down a little and didn't continue.
"Sarah, get up," I said, reaching out to help her.
Sarah was wearing heavy clothes, so I wasn't sure where she was hurt, but I could see her face was swollen, the back of her hand was cut and bleeding, and her hair was a mess, scattered on the ground.
I had always known Tony had a short temper, but I didn't expect him to act like this in a public place.
