CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY SEVEN THE BABY

  DAHILA

  "I was lying." I said smiling, "I mean, how would I say that about my sweet angel Davis." 

  "Now Davis has become an angel," Anna said.

  She threw her hands up in mock surrender. "Fine, fine, I get it. Go ahead and let him spoil you, you big softie. But you know, if you keep this up, I'm going to have to start calling you 'Princess Dahila' and make you wear a tiara to lunch."

  "Big softie?" I looked at my stomach and my bloated leg.

  "Why would you call me that? Because of stomach? You think I'm ugly?"

  "I didn't think that." 

  But I scoffed and didn't wait up before I announced that to Davis when he got back from work, "Anna called big softie. She thinks I'm big because I'm pregnant." 

  "Why would she do that?" He asked as he made dinner, "But why did you meet her today? You told me you are going for your fitness exercise? Isn't that the reason you skipped going to the gallery today?" 

  Damn! I've been caught in my lie. "I went to the fitness..."
