Location: Aboard Levi Wisdom
As AK entered his cabin, a hurried voice called out behind him.
"Chief! Chief sir!"
Turning around, AK saw a young man approaching quickly, looking tense and restless.
"Sir, your documents—I need them to prepare the departure report and update the crew list," the man said breathlessly.
AK held up a hand. "Relax. Take a deep breath first. Do you need some water?"
"No, thanks, sir," the man replied.
AK studied him for a second. "What's your rank?"
"Third Officer, Anish, sir."
"Oh, okay." AK nodded and handed over his documents.
"Thank you, sir," Anish said quickly before rushing off, still looking uneasy.
AK frowned. Why does he seem so nervous? Does he know something? Is he hiding something?
Curious, he decided to follow Anish, keeping a distance as the Third Officer headed straight to the ship's office. As AK approached, he heard Captain Abraham's voice—sharp and reprimanding.
"You don't know how to handle a simple task? Look at yourself! You're nervous. What do you think people will assume? That you've done something wrong? That you're hiding something? Even if you're scared, you must remain calm and composed. An officer should never look guilty."
AK listened carefully before stepping into the office. "Excuse me, sir."
Abraham paused, his sharp gaze shifting to AK. "Chief, tell me—how does he look?"
AK glanced at Anish, hesitating before responding. "Hmm… good."
Abraham sighed. "Not good-looking or bad-looking, Chief! I mean, how does he seem to you right now?"
AK smirked. "Like a guy who just stole something and ran away."
Abraham turned to Anish. "Exactly! You're an officer. Carry yourself with pride. Stand tall, be composed, and act like an officer, understood?"
"Yes, sir," Anish replied, looking embarrassed.
"Now go. Finish the necessary documents for departure."
"Yes, sir." Anish quickly left the office.
AK leaned against the doorframe, watching him go. So, that's why the captain scolded him. Looks like Abraham isn't too bad.
Abraham turned back to AK. "What are you thinking, Chief?"
"Nothing, sir."
"Good. I've checked everything so far, and it all matches. Get some rest when you can—things are going to get hectic at port."
AK nodded. As he left the office, he couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to Anish's nervousness than just inexperience.
