Before anyone in the vampire kingdom knew what was happening, Lord Declan had started to organize a wedding. He and Ayra would officially get married, and then he would start the process of making her the Vampire Queen.
Making Ayra the vampire queen meant that Lord Declan would have to turn her into a vampire.
''My Lord. Is this not all too soon? I know you are in love, but...'' Marlon tried to talk some sense into the mind of the vampire king, but Lord Declan did not have it.
''Marlon, if you do not want to be my personal guard and work directly with me anymore, there are many other ways to say it. I would not have you truncate my happiness.'' Lord Declan cut Marlon short as he continued to dish out orders and instructions concerning his forthcoming wedding.
The entire Vampire kingdom soon started buzzing about the event that was going to be the biggest one that the kingdom had had in a very long time. They had never had cause to witness a grand wedding ceremony of the vampire king and his bride because other vampire kings had remained single their entire lives.
Two days later, Marlon, the personal guard to the vampire king, could do nothing but appear dressed in his ceremonial outfit as he watched his King get married to the stray girl that he knew would cause havoc in the entire world. That marriage would be the major cause of what will go down in history as the most ruthless war between kingdoms of the underworld.
''By the powers vested in me from the vampire's essence and through the agreement made by the ancestors before us, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss your bride.'' The vampire priest was under duress as he made the announcement and declaration between Lord Declan Dark and Ayra.
If there was anyone who knew about the prophecy of the tale of doom, it was the vampire priest, and he knew that it was exactly what was taking place right before his eyes. What the vampire priest dreaded the most was that he was an instrument in making the tale come to pass, because there he was joining the vampire king with a stray girl that happened to be a werewolf.
Or did Lord Declan not know that Ayra was a werewolf? Why and how did he fall in love with a werewolf when vampires and werewolves hated themselves to stupor if it was not as a result of some sort of curse, blessing, or prophecy?
In this case, it was the prophecy at work, according to the tale.
Lord Declan turned to look at his bride, Ayra, and then he gave her a loving kiss to the cheering of the entire vampire kingdom.
If there was one thing Ayra could not resist even though she was taken into the vampire kingdom by force, it was the attractiveness of the vampire king, Lord Declan.
''Ah!'' Alpha Zynth, who was leading the South Moon Pack, felt a pang of pain in his chest at the same time as Lord Declan and Ayra were declared husband and wife.
Yes. Zynth had turned eighteen soon after Ayra left the South Moon Pack, and though he wished to meet his mate, he never did. Little did Alpha Zynth know that his mate was none other than his friend, Ayra, the one who had escaped the pack.
''Is everything okay?'' Dane Augustus asked Alpha Zynth.
''Yes. But I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my chest. It's gone anyway, but damn, it was so painful.'' Alpha Zynth explained.
Dane Augustus looked at Zynth skeptically, then patted his back.
''It might just be you tensing up for the task ahead. Don't worry my young Alpha, you'll be fine.'' Dane Augustus, even though he consoled Alpha Zynth, did not fail to notice that Alpha Zynth's hand was placed directly on the part of his chest that was affected anytime a mate bond was tugged at.
Dane Augustus had his speculations about that, but he held it all together, as they set out on their search.
It did not take so long of a run for the pack of wolves looking for Ayra from the South Moon Pack, to stumble on the same settlement that Ayra first stumbled on when she set out.
The Dragon Kingdom.
Shifting back to their human forms, the small army from the South Moon Pack found their way into the Dragon Kingdom, witnessing the chaos that was taking place.
''This is King Devon's kingdom, if I am not mistaken. These are dragons, right?'' One of the men in Dane Augustus' army asked.
''Obviously. Can't you see? They are dragons. It's best to remain in the shadows like this so that they do not notice us.'' Dane Augustus did not take his eyes off the scene that was before him as he spoke to his subordinates.
''And who are you people?'' An unfamiliar voice suddenly sounded from behind the werewolves that watched the Dragon Kingdom falling apart.
The person who had spoken to them was none other than Lambert, the king's hand. He was on his way out of the kingdom with some of his men to look for King Devon when they spotted these strange humans.
Dane Augustus raised his hands in the air as a sign of surrender.
''We didn't come to look for trouble, sir.'' He quickly started to apologize and act politely so that at least he could have the man who had just approached them remain calm.
Lambert nodded.
''So, what do you want here then? As you can see, we are a little bit busy around here.'' Lambert said, beckoning Dane Augustus' attention to the fact that the Kingdom was agog with violence.
''Why are they killing themselves?'' Dane Augustus eventually asked this man who had stopped them as he could not afford to act as if it did not bother him that the ones fighting among themselves were the same kind.
