"Get away from her!" Morgetha screamed with her two swords held at the ready as she charged at him.
"Don't be a fool, child, you can't hurt me with those things" Fuhrer said, looking rather spent himself, "Don't waste my time, give, me the girl"
Morgetha yelled as she charged at him still. She swung one sword as she got to him, leaving a large cut on his right hand. Fuhrer was shocked.
"Think again, Fuhrer, these swords were laced with magic by my mother herself. Surely, you would have been the first person on her mind when she made them" Morgetha said, sounding smug.
Arba just watched from the side. She didn't go to check on Arsila.
Fuhrer was angered at the sight of his blood and began lashing his magic at her. Her swords weren't equal to his magic in combat but she's a worthy contender. Blocking all he threw at her skillfully with her swords, she dodged many blows that would have been fatal.
Fuhrer was getting tired of this 'dance'. He hasn't use his elemental powers on her since, now might just be the time. Time to put an end to this.
He sent a flaming ball of fire her way. Arba screamed as she saw him controlling the fire with his hands to hurl it at Morgetha. She could die if she was hit.
"Morgetha!" Arba yelled as Morgetha was slowly getting up, being weak. She would not be able to move out in time and Arba won't be able to get pass Fuhrer and save her in time.
Arba don't know how, but she sent the fire ball back to Fuhrer with a wave of her hand. She doubted she was an elemental, and what she did was nothing like what Fuhrer did with the fire. The more likely explanation is that she did what she did with her mind. She willed the fire to go back and it did. Similar to how she willed Caleb to come meet her outside earlier tonight.
Her power is the ability to control things with her mind; the power of the mind, but she doesn't know it yet.
"How did you…?" asked a shocked Fuhrer who moved out of the way just in time, landing into the dirt. His words seemed to have gone back down his throat when he looked at Arba and no longer saw the timid, quiet, harmless little thing she earlier was, but now a powerful 'Gifted' with blazing, glowing purple eyes, who exuded anger and power, much of which was directed at him. He gulped.
Fuhrer stood to his feet, quickly enough. He was going to use words to calm her down but seeing that won't work, he employed his best, throwing all he had at her; magic and elemental powers.
All he sent her way, she reversed back to him as she kept approaching, her strides not fast but powerful. He was afraid to use fire, for he didn't want to get burnt.
At the other side, one of the sorcerers had gotten to his feet and was facing Morgetha who was fighting back with all her strength, though weak.
Misera walked shakily out of the thicket surrounding the clearing where they fought, her leg badly injured and her head hammered. How and when she landed among the bushes she knew not.
She had to bring her eyes into focus to comprehend the scene before her. The girl Arba was fighting and defeating Fuhrer (Misera knew from onset the girl had great power); Morgetha was fighting Ulco, a sorcerer, and not doing so well by the looks of it; the other two sorcerers were passed out on the ground (though one seemed to be waking up); and then there was someone else on the ground too. Arsila!
Misera walked to the side of her friend, Arsila, while others were still engaged in their fights. Arsila seemed to be swimming in and out of consciousness. She was in no condition to fight.
Misera heard Morgetha let out a cry and looked up to where she was. Seemed like Ulco had hit her with his magic, she fell to the ground clutching her abdomen. Misera then heard Arba also let out a cry (though of less magnitude) and turned to look at her to find her clutching her abdomen also, at the same place as Morgetha, falling to her knees. Arba hadn't been hit.
(This gave Fuhrer the upper hand momentarily for he was about to be done for.)
Misera then remembered the prophecy was of two parts; the other part of the prophecy told that this blessed 'Gifted one' would share a transcendent bond with another 'Gifted one', stronger than any earthly bond. Such a bond would be so strong that to hurt one would be to hurt the other. The prophecy also told that the revelation of the powers of the blessed would be in some ways through the other.
It seems like Morgetha is that other, to hurt her would be to hurt Arba.
Misera had the chance to choose what side she wants to be on, she has the key to potentially end this. If she wants to be on the side of Fuhrer (and the Magus) who had always spoken down on her and she knew if he had his way, he would have been rid of her years ago. Or if she wants to be on the side of her only true friend, Arsila; who may not be the best person in the world, she may not even be essentially a good person, but she has been good to her, there for her when no one else was; and her daughter who would without doubt be affected greatly should anything bad happen to the blessed 'Gifted one'
Misera made her choice quickly. While Arba had begun to get the upper hand once again, Morgetha was still on the ground, barely dodging the hits of Ulco.
"Ulco!" Misera called to her co-sorcerer causing him to momentarily leave Morgetha and look at her.
