Chapter 59

EMILY'S POV

I jerked out of my daze as the smell of burning food filled my nose. My eyes widened as I saw the dark smoke filling the kitchen.

Rushing across the kitchen, I almost ran into the kitchen island trying to get to the stove on time.

I finally turned the knob of the burner and let out a deep breath of relief. Looking into the pan was what was meant to be lunch, but was now charred and too burnt to eat.

I covered my face with my hands as I let out a deep exhale. What was happening to me?

Since I came back to the hospital, I can't seem to concentrate on anything. I was a nervous wreck, my thoughts still lingering on Christian and Lucy.

I picked up the pot and threw it in the sink with annoyance, turning the knob of the tap to let cold water into the pot.

Taking a step back, I ran my hands through my hair in frustration. I just couldn't stop it, every time I closed my eyes it was like it was happening all over again.
