Chapter 27- The Penthouse

The soft chime of the elevator signaled their arrival at the penthouse. The doors slid open, revealing a lavish expanse of marble flooring and a glittering crystal chandelier that illuminated the grand space. Anna limped forward, her injured ankle screaming with every step. Despite the pain etched across her face, she refused to let out a sound. Her pride wouldn’t allow it—not in front of him.

Jaden stepped out behind her, his face unreadable, his long strides effortlessly keeping pace with her slow, uneven steps. He glanced at her briefly, his eyes narrowing as they flicked down to her limp. For a fleeting moment, Anna thought she saw a shadow of concern cross his features, but it was gone before she could be sure.

“Keep moving,” Jaden said coldly, his voice devoid of emotion.
