With tear-blurred eyes, I caught a glimpse of Jasper in the corner.
He was wearing his groom's suit from six years ago.
Six years had passed, and the once-fitting garment was now ill-suited for his frame.
He struggled to wear it, looking entirely out of place.
Noticing my gaze, he haphazardly wiped the tears from his face.
But the tears wouldn't stop, and eventually, he buried his face in his arms.
His violently shaking shoulders betrayed his emotional breakdown.
Caelan, seated beside him, couldn't budge him and instead ran up to the stage to find me.
"Mom! Mom! Don't leave me and Dad!"
Caelan clung to my legs, refusing to let go no matter who tried to pull him away.
Finally, Jasper grabbed him by the collar and dragged him off, but before leaving, he asked me,
"Vivienne, you loved me once, didn't you?"
I wanted to deny it, but as the words reached my lips, I couldn't bring myself to betray years of emotions. I nodded.
"Genuinely and truly."
