LIORA'S POV;
I leaned my head against the door, feeling the cool surface press against my forehead as I struggled to calm the storm of emotions within me. My eyes closed, and I tried to steady my breath, but my thoughts spun relentlessly.
How could he say something like that? I muttered under my breath, replaying his words. Does he even realize I’m carrying his child?
How would he know when you haven't told him yet?....
I sighed, letting the frustration seep out of me as best as I could manage. There was a quiet comfort I’d hoped for in the idea of him running errands for me; it was silly, maybe, but I thought it could have been a chance to spend time with him, however brief. The longing for his company had been stronger than I’d care to admit. Yet, I’d ended up here—wounded by his casual dismissal.
