Chapter 155 WE'VE ALL FAILED LIORA!

RONAN'S POV;

“Please, sir,” the hotel staff whimpered, her hands clasped tightly as though her life depended on it. “I was just desperate—a hungry woman trying to provide for her family.”

Her words were desperate, trembling as they left her lips, but they did nothing to soften the anger boiling within me. I stared at her, my hands clenched into fists by my sides. This wasn’t desperation—it was cruelty.

“You were desperate,” I said, my voice cold, my eyes narrowing at her. “But that doesn’t justify drugging an innocent woman.” My voice grew louder, harsher, as my anger took hold. “A woman who is pregnant, at that.”

Her lip quivered as tears streamed down her face. She tried to speak, but her words were drowned by her sobs. I felt no sympathy. No remorse. Desperation doesn’t excuse betrayal, and her actions could have cost Liora her life.

“Please,” she begged again, her voice breaking.
