—----------Aubrey’s pov—----------
I stormed into Gregory’s office, not even bothering to knock. The door slammed behind me with a force that echoed through the room, but I didn’t care.
My heart was still pounding from the night before, from the guilt, the confusion, and the overwhelming anger that had been festering inside me.
Gregory looked up from his desk, a calm, almost amused expression on his face. It only fueled my anger more. How dare he look so smug after what he’d done?
“What the hell was that last night, Gregory?” I snapped, my voice sharper than I intended. I didn’t even wait for him to respond. “I told you to stop your men! I told you to call it off, but you went ahead with it anyway!”
He leaned back in his chair, unbothered by my outburst. “Aubrey, calm down. I didn’t do anything after your call. My phone died before I could hear what you were saying. Whatever happened wasn’t my doing.”
