Emily’s face hardened. "If I had any feelings for you, I might consider it. But right now, your touch repulses me."
Nicholas’s demeanor grew cold. "Repulsed? Weren’t you enjoying yourself last time?"
Emily sneered with contempt. "That was because I was drugged and out of my mind. Any man in that situation would have had the same effect on me."
Nicholas’s rage boiled over. “Say that again!”
Emily's voice was sharp, her eyebrow arched in challenge. "Do you really expect me to rely on medication every time we’re together to hide my disgust for you?"
Nicholas’s eyes blazed with fury, his anger barely contained. It seemed as if he wanted to strangle her on the spot.
Emily pushed him away and stood up, her gaze as cold as ice. "If you have needs, you can go to Maria. After all, this isn’t the first time you’ve sought comfort elsewhere."
Nicholas's brow furrowed in frustration. "Emily, I’ve told you repeatedly that I have no connection with Maria!"
