Chapter 43: The other side of paradise

They were camping on the side of the road, as they couldn't carry the noble at too great a speed. His name was Richard, and as it appears, he was the lord of Elise. Felix should have known him from the heraldry on his clothes, but when they had met, Felix had thought about other things.

Like how to get away from the wendigos if there were more than two. But there hadn't been just two, there had been four. And one of them was overjoyed to hold Felix's fluffy body in his claws.

The cooing of the child still rang in Felix's ears. He knew, that if he hadn't killed the boy now, then the child would have killed some more. It had looked well-fed.

Or, as well-fed as a wendigo could look. Felix had not known that they could breed. That boy probably had the souls of countless humans hanging over his head, and yet, he had been overjoyed to hold a bunny.
