Chapter 48: Alter her Memories

Fleur nodded and placed her finger against her lips as she approached Caroline and leaned in, so her mouth was close to her ear, “Try not to talk. Anything you say can be heard by Eloise and may affect or alter her memories. We just need to observe.”

Caroline nodded to show she understood and waited for Fleur to take the lead. Fleur turned around and held her hands up in the air, level with her head and about shoulder-width apart, her palms flat. With her eyes closed, she appeared to be concentrating, and Caroline stood awkwardly behind her, unsure what to do. Slowly, an image started to appear before them, as though they were looking up at a movie screen. At first, the images came across as patchy and scattered, as though trying to come together but missing in sections. After a few moments, the images became clear enough to see, and Caroline felt like her heart plummeted as she watched, open-mouthed.
