He was one of the Demon Gods of hell.
For thousands of years, he had ruled the Uninhabited Zone, suppressing the Demigod Empire for an equally long time.
In a sense, he could be considered a chaotic Demon God, a top-tier fiend who brought calamity to the mortal world. Yet, his subordinates were utterly clueless about his intentions.
Beelzebub's eerie eyes narrowed. "Hmph, except for Nanavis, the rest can be used as fodder."
Though these others had followed him for many years, to a high demon, middle and lesser demons were nothing more than livestock —devoid of meaning or sentiment.
Let alone to a Demon God.
More importantly, his return to hell this time was to strategize a counterattack against Eden.
Middle demons were utterly powerless against angels, so why not kill them all and replace them with high demons?
"I'll discuss this matter with that girl, but she's unlikely to object," Beelzebub murmured to himself as he flew toward the Palace of Pride.
His form shifted into a swirling black hurricane, racing through the air at immense speed.
To Nanavis, the lives of other demons surely meant nothing, so Beelzebub's words were spoken with full confidence.
However,
When he arrived at the Palace of Pride, it was eerily empty.
The surrounding area bore the obvious marks of a massive battle.
A cold glint flashed through Beelzebub's eyes. "Did the Holy Alliance take advantage of my absence to invade the Uninhabited Zone?!"
A deep sense of unease gripped him.
Indeed, after searching for a long time, there was no trace of Nanavis anywhere.
Demons, unlike goblins or insect races, did have attachments to their offspring.
Nanavis, after all, was the child he had conceived with a human.
"Damn the Holy Alliance!!!"
"RUMBLE!"
Beelzebub perched atop the palace like a gargoyle and let out a furious roar. His bellow split the heavens, scattering clouds.
The earth trembled violently, as if the world itself cowered in fear of his wrath.
The ground around him began to split apart as if torn by invisible hands. He forcibly tore open a Gate of Hell, summoning a massive host of demons.
Swish, swish, swish, swish!
Like a swarm crossing a river, an endless tide of demons poured forth, their numbers a black mass blotting out the horizon. Each demon exuded a terrifying and savage aura.
For anyone other than a Demon God, even a high demon required specific hell coordinates and gates to enter the mortal realm.
Soon, the entire Uninhabited Zone echoed with the unsettling whispers of demons.
It was terrifyingly oppressive.
A demonic army of tens of millions appeared!
The overwhelming demonic energy caused withered trees to rot instantly, and the ground itself turned black as ink.
Yet most of these demons were mindless, akin to beasts without intelligence, driven solely by bloodlust.
But that suited Beelzebub's purpose perfectly—to exact brutal revenge on the Holy Alliance!
When the other Demon Gods later gathered to oppose Eden, they would annihilate the Demigod Empires and the Heroes' Guild in one fell swoop.
Staring at the vast demon army, Beelzebub turned his gaze toward the direction of the Holy Alliance and murmured in demonic whispers, "Jaughe~"
No, that wasn't it.
"Let the humans taste the despair and terror they so richly deserve…"
Immediately, the demons grew restless, their excitement palpable.
They were itching for bloodshed, yearning to hear the symphony of screams and the melody of despair.
At this moment.
The Demon Kings who had been sent by Ladrick to guard the Uninhabited Zone's borders began returning in droves.
When they saw the terrifying demon army, they trembled uncontrollably.
The demons around them, like ravenous wolves spotting prey, began to encircle the Demon Kings, sniffing the scent of fresh flesh and blood.
"What… what is going on here? So many demons?! Where is Lady Nana?"
The leading Demon King, Lains, stammered in fear.
Even though the average strength of these demons was relatively low, their sheer presence brought an oppressive sense of dread.
In everyone's mind, demons were the most wicked and powerful of all monsters.
Even as monsters themselves, they were filled with fear.
At that moment.
The demons could no longer contain themselves. They bared their black fangs, preparing to bite.
Beelzebub's massive figure suddenly descended from the sky, landing heavily on the ground!
His colossal, muscular frame exuded an unmatched aura of dominance.
Before him, the Demon Kings seemed like mere children—weak and insignificant.
The overwhelming pressure left them too terrified to breathe.
"You are Nanavis's subordinates, aren't you? You failed to protect her, and instead, you still dare linger here?"
Beelzebub's deep, resonant voice was as chilling as it was powerful.
The lead Demon King, Lains, who had slightly higher combat strength, opened his mouth to explain.
But before he could say a word, a massive hand grabbed him.
Instantly.
Lains felt every bone in his body break, his breath cut off, and his eyes bulged from their sockets. "D-Demon God… Demon God! Wait!
Wait—!"
"Crunch!"
Before he could finish, he was crushed alive, blood spraying everywhere. His bones shattered into fragments.
Beelzebub then stuffed the broken body into his mouth and devoured it whole.
The terrifying scene left the remaining Demon Kings trembling, their legs weak from helplessness and fear.
Comparatively, Nanavis was considered a gentle soul.
True demons and Demon Gods were merciless, killing without hesitation.
The key difference was their ability to kill these Demon Kings instantly, without effort.
"Demon God, please listen to me. Lady Nana was killed by goblins. As soon as we received the news, we rushed back to check, but it was already too late!"
One of the Demon Kings forced himself to suppress the lump in his throat and explained, gasping heavily as though relieved to have spoken.
Without an explanation, death was certain.
The news had originally come from participating monsters, but their sluggish pace had delayed the message for days.
Hearing this, Beelzebub's expression shifted slightly. "Goblins?"
"Crunch!"
Without hesitation, he reached out and crushed the Demon King into a bloody pulp, just as he had with Lains. Then, he conveniently chewed and swallowed the remains.
Wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth, he continued, "How could mere goblins possibly wipe out all of the Great Lords of Sin?
You're not trying to stall for the Holy Alliance, are you?"
"I swear on the heavens!"
"Demon God, we would never collude with the Holy Alliance! Please, I beg you to investigate!"
"I stake my life on this—it was the goblins of the Wilderness! But he wasn't an ordinary goblin; he unified the entire Wilderness, and his strength is not to be underestimated!"
The remaining Demon Kings frantically explained, desperately trying to save themselves.
Faced with this information, Beelzebub hesitated for a moment. "Unified the Wilderness, you say… I never thought a lowly species like goblins could accomplish such a thing. Very well, I'll believe you for now."
Regardless of whether it was the goblins or not, the Demigod Empire would be destroyed in the end.
The Demon Kings sighed in relief, as though they had narrowly escaped death.
But suddenly, a massive hand swept toward them!
Beelzebub coldly said, "In the end, you're all worthless. You'll all be replaced eventually…"
"Crunch!"
The sound of flesh and blood exploding echoed once again.
Seeing this, the few Demon Kings who weren't caught began fleeing in a frenzy.
As they fled, Beelzebub slowly turned toward the direction of the Wilderness, blowing a soft whistle.
A dense swarm of demons surged forward like a catastrophic tide.
The escaping Demon Kings stood no chance, overwhelmed and devoured alive.
Ripped apart and consumed.
"Goblins, is it? Very well… I'll eradicate this despicable race entirely," Beelzebub said calmly, though beneath his tranquility lay an abyss of rage.
The demonic army advanced.
A massive black cloud of demonic energy billowed across the sky, blanketing everything in its path.
Where they passed, vegetation withered and the earth turned black.
By the roadside, a demon rabbit was nibbling on grass roots when it suddenly perked up, alert. It gazed toward the depths of the forest.
From the dark woods, no demons emerged, but a storm-like black demonic energy began to spread.
The rabbit only inhaled a few breaths of the demonic air before black cracks spread across its body.
Trembling violently, it collapsed and disintegrated into dust.
Even living beings couldn't endure the evil power and died instantly.
Larger creatures or those with greater resistance could last longer, but only for a little while—they would ultimately perish.
For this reason, Beelzebub hadn't summoned high, middle, or lesser demons but relied solely on the mindless demonic army.
Simple and brutal, maximizing his vengeance.
…
At the border of the Uninhabited Zone.
Several soldiers in silver armor and white cloaks stared at the distant sky, their eyes filled with fear.
"W-what is that?! The presence of a demon army! This is bad!"
"Hurry, notify His Highness! Evacuate the civilians immediately!"
"Wait a moment. It looks like they're heading in the opposite direction, not toward us."
The imperial scouts spoke, visibly relieved.
Still, they needed to report the development.
After all, the situation had changed—clearly, a Demon God had returned.
Suppressing their terror, the scouts turned and ran back to deliver the news.
…
Meanwhile.
In Goblin King City.
Two days had passed.
Under Lin Tian's intimidation, the Drawing Demon had finally completed several new paintings, all of which were unpublished works.
The quality was unprecedented, given that failure would mean death.
"Your Majesty, p-please inspect them," the Drawing Demon said weakly, dark circles under his eyes and looking utterly exhausted.
Lin Tian hummed in acknowledgment, flipping through the works casually. "What the… time-stopping magic? You even know about
this?!"
He had thought this was something exclusive to "that other world."
But to think even monsters in this world could grasp such concepts—it was shocking.
The Drawing Demon, on the verge of tears, replied, "It's only because of your help, Your Majesty. My brain is working at a hundred
percent capacity now; otherwise, I could never have created such works."
Lin Tian chuckled, patting him on the shoulder. "Not bad. You're not short on money, so I won't reward you with that. How about some
women? I can call one over for you right now."
The unexpected quality of the new works caught even Lin Tian by surprise.
"Well, this definitely deserves some kind of reward," he mused.
The Drawing Demon, however, instinctively declined. "Thank you, Your Majesty, but… I'd rather pass."
"What's wrong? Overexerted yourself, huh? Fine, keep it up, and I might consider replacing a kidney for you," Lin Tian teased, not poking
further at the demon's weak spot. With the scrolls in hand, he prepared to deliver them to Celeste.
Who could have imagined that building relationships in this world would involve something like this?
But then again, in an alternate world, nothing was ever truly predictable.
The Drawing Demon, suddenly invigorated, exclaimed, "Thank you, Your Majesty! I'll give it my all and create even greater
masterpieces for you!"
At the Succubus House, Celeste was struggling to contain her anticipation and shyness. "Your Majesty… this… this is far too generous of
you."
The two had hardly rested, spending days and nights in restless contemplation of previous works. Having grown thoroughly bored of
the old pieces, she had long awaited something new. Yet, given her status, she couldn't bring herself to outright buy them.
"Take it," Lin Tian said casually. "Of course, this isn't free—can you tell me more about…"
Before he could finish, Lin Tian noticed Celeste's pupils contract into thin slits. An intense and savage aura emanated from her body.
It was the kind of energy that only someone who had survived years of bloodshed and possessed overwhelming strength could wield.
Lin Tian couldn't help but grow cautious, watching her closely.
Celeste turned her gaze to the window. Beyond the high-rise view of Goblin King City lay the Wilderness.
She spoke, her voice low and grim. "Why is he here?"
He?
Lin Tian immediately asked, "Who are you talking about?"
Celeste pondered for a moment before deciding there was no need to hide the truth. "The ones you killed—the Great Lords of Sin—
were subordinates of Beelzebub, a Demon God of Hell. If I'm not mistaken, he's come for revenge."
She paused, then added, "And his strength far exceeds that of all of you combined."
Hearing this, Lin Tian wasted no time and sprang into action, preparing to defend against the Demon God's army.
Celeste glanced back, only to see the scrolls discarded on the ground. Lin Tian had already vanished.
In the royal palace, Lin Tian gathered everyone. Even Alice's normally calm demeanor turned serious.
The One-Eyed Owl spoke up. "Who cares if it's a Demon God or some Hellhound? We've already killed high demons before—how much
harder could it be? At worst, it'll take a little extra effort!"
Lin Tian wasn't overly panicked, but he hadn't expected the enemies he killed to be Beelzebub's subordinates. No wonder Ladrick had
always acted so brazenly.
Unfortunately, Lin Tian had used his Life Simulation System the previous day to gain life points, advancing the storyline of the assault
on the Demigod Empire.
"Sara, prepare to summon the Three-Life Demon Armor. It might have the strength to challenge a Demon God," Lin Tian ordered.
The armor was a weapon of a Fallen God and was estimated to have combat strength of around thirty thousand. While Lin Tian wasn't
entirely certain, he could roughly gauge that a Great Demon King was at twenty thousand, near the limits of a demigod.
A high demon was comparable to a demigod, putting Celeste at around twenty-five thousand. Nanavis, as a half-blood, couldn't
reach that level.
Thus, divine entities were likely at thirty thousand.
The Three-Life Demon Armor was twenty-six thousand. Combined with their collective strength, they might stand a chance at slaying
a god.
Moreover, since their enemy was a Demon God, holy-based attacks could counter his powers.
If all else failed, Lin Tian planned to lead his group into Eden to seek refuge.
As for the city and other monsters?
If they died, they died. Lin Tian was utterly indifferent.
Hearing this, Sara responded promptly, "Understood, Your Majesty."
Lin Tian continued with a measured tone. "However, Gobu Yue and the others, you should sit this one out. Only Alice, Big Sis, Sara, and I
will fight this time."
The younger goblins hesitated but ultimately nodded. "But, Boss…"
They were well aware of the danger and worried about Lin Tian and the others.
Lin Tian raised a hand to stop them. "Don't worry. I'm confident I can lead them to safety. You just need to hide for now."
At his insistence, they reluctantly agreed.
