Chapter 9: REVIEW

“You don’t have a review for our subject, right?” she immediately avert her gaze. I smiled and turned my head at her reaction.

I immediately handed her my notebook, which she looked at it intently and at me.

“What?” as if she didn’t know. I knew she didn’t have anything to write yesterday. It was because she's out of it yesterday. And I knew she would need the notes so I wrote everything down.

It's really no problem for me to have no answer. At least yesterday I learned something.

“Go take your review. I'll be accompanying you while you study.” I said.

She accepted my notebook and smiled. “I can review on my own,” she replied, which I just shook my head at.

I immediately sat down on the balcony floor while looking at the bright sky. I felt her sitting next to me and started to open my notebook. I stay silent and let her read the contents of my notes.

I still winced at every frown she made as if she didn't understand anything.

We stayed like that for about an hour until I didn't realize I had fallen asleep.

I was immediately enveloped in a whirlwind of hot sunlight that burned my skin. I saw my notebook in my left hand and our tenant was gone.

I hurriedly entered my room and quickly went to my bathroom to take a shower. I only took a military shower, I just wet my head to finish quickly.

“Bye ma!” I said goodbye after getting dressed, which made mama frown.

“Have your breakfast first! You and Seah should eat together,” I was about to go out our door but I immediately returned with a frown.

“Who is Seah?” I asked in surprise as my mother pointed to the woman with her back to me, wearing the same uniform as me, sitting in front of the table.

She turned to me, surprising me. “Woah! Is your name Seah?” I said and immediately went in front of her and sat down to eat breakfast. Mama turned around, leaving us behind and taking my plate.

I immediately looked at my watch, which made me scold myself. It was still 6:35 am and I still had time to take a shower, but I'm in a hurry, I didn’t have time to take a proper shower.

Seah’s Point of View

I never thought this guy in front of me would help me. I had never expected that someone would lend a hand for me.

I really stayed up late thinking about what I was going to do on the quiz, tho! I couldn't sleep at all, which added to my worries last night about what I was going to answer.

I did write a little bit about the subject but I was so overwhelmed yesterday that I couldn't write properly.

We had breakfast and went to school together. It's so awkward, I know for a fact that I didn't thank him for giving me his notebook.

We were silent until we entered the school. As soon as I entered, a man immediately put his arm around me and pouted like an idiot while I walked to where I was sitting.

“Seah, come sit with me to review. I don't know anything about our quiz and I don't understand what I'm reading,” he said awkwardly while teasing me.

I just nodded to agree to his wishes. I was helped, so I'll help too. It would have been worse if I had refused.

He pulled out a chair and immediately made it face where I was sitting.

“Read this to me, Seah,” he demanded. I couldn't have done anything if he hadn't read it to me. I cleared my throat first and started to scan his notes. His handwriting and the contents of his notes was nice, but Raphael's was more detailed.

As I was reading and explaining the topic, he just stood there like an idiot in front of me while looking down at me. I doubt he was listening, he just nodded as if you thought he would really understand what I was reading.

I just let him and finished what I had started. I also looked at the time and soon it was our time. I just hurried through my explanation and let this guy understand later.

“Okay let's start,” our instructors voice echoed that stops me from reading.

“Woah! I didn't learn anything,” the man in front of me said, slapping my forehead. Is that what it's saying? “Ma’am five minutes,” he requested, but our teacher shook his head, which made him frown.

An hour had passed and we were done and surprisingly I knew all the answers. I breathed a sigh of relief when my paper, which had just been checked, was given to me. I was satisfied.

And I'll probably thank Raphael and treat him something because of what he did last night. “Woah why is my score so low,” the man they called Cedric complained, dramatically bending down in his chair.

“I reviewed with Crushy!” I just winced at his words. Ignoring him, I turned my gaze back to my paper and immediately stuffed it into my bag.

And because our quiz was over, I was sure to fall asleep after passing that test. I yawned and looked up at the sky.

The sun was shining brightly today, I could see a few trees and a few birds flying in the sky through the window.

Our schools window is a sliding one. And because I was close to the window, it was better if it was opened to let in fresh air.

I could feel the cold wind blowing and how fresh it was. While I was enjoying the breeze, someone suddenly placed a styrofoam cup on my arm chair with coffee in it.

“Drink it,” Raphael said and smiled as he returned to his seat. When did that person ever go out just for coffee? I was still stunned by the coffee and after a while, I shrugged and picked up the coffee and drank it.

It's still hot and maybe there's a vending machine inside the school that I don't know about yet.

Although I really don't know anything because I haven't been around here yet. I took a sip of my coffee while looking outside the room.

“Thanks,” I whispered.
