After receiving Tsunade's promise, Sasame was brimming with enthusiasm.

With the finalized list in hand, he personally visited each major shinobi clan.

His first stop? The Hyūga clan—home of his future father-in-law.

"Halt."

A young man raised his hand, stopping Sasame. "This is Hyūga territory. State your business."

"I come on behalf of the Fifth Hokage. I request an audience with Hyūga Hiashi."

Sasame presented Tsunade's official order.

"Wait here."

After verifying the document, the guard returned it and entered the compound.

It was afternoon.

Hiashi was observing a spar between Hinata and Neji in the courtyard training grounds.

His expression was stern, but inwardly, he was pleased.

For some inexplicable reason, Hinata had awakened one day, her progress skyrocketing—surpassing even Neji.

Something he had never dared hope for before.

Back then, he hadn't even wished for her to overtake Neji—just for her timid personality to change.

"Why couldn't this have happened sooner?"

Hiashi sighed.

Had it been just two months earlier, he wouldn't have considered fathering another heir.

But now, it was too late—Hanabi had been born into the main family.

By tradition, she would receive the Caged Bird Seal at age three.

In the original timeline, Hinata had been spared the seal because of her bond with Naruto.

But now, things were different.

Hiashi knew saving Hanabi would be difficult.

Just as in his youth, he had watched helplessly as his younger brother, Hizashi, was branded—their bond fracturing irreparably.

From inseparable brothers to near-strangers.

The Caged Bird Seal was not something he could abolish.

Though Hiashi was clan head, above him stood the elders—including the previous head.

How could he defy them?

"Lord Hiashi, a shinobi bearing the Hokage's orders requests an audience."

The guard glanced at Neji before kneeling before Hiashi.

The relationship between the main and branch families was fraught with tension.

Yet, bound by the seal, they remained inseparable.

Neji was the most talented branch member in decades—a prodigy they had pinned their hopes on.

But now, he had lost to Hinata.

Many branch members lamented the cruelty of fate.

The branch could never defy the main family.

"Let him in."

Hiashi raised an eyebrow.

Due to the Hinata kidnapping incident, the Hyūga clan held grievances against Hiruzen.

And as someone who had been present, Hiashi's resentment ran deeper.

For the new Hokage to seek them out so soon suggested she valued the Hyūga.

Hiashi would never betray Konoha—but he hoped Tsunade wouldn't repeat Hiruzen's mistakes, compromising for political gain.

This was a chance to test the waters.

Soon, Hiashi laid eyes on Sasame.

His first impression? Young.

His second? Underestimation.

But then he recognized him—Tsunade's disciple.

This was no slight.

As Hiashi stepped forward, Hinata—distracted—was struck down by Neji.

Hiashi froze, anger flashing across his face. His hands twitched toward a seal.

"F-Father…"

Hinata raised a hand, her voice soft but firm. "I'm fine. Please don't interfere."

Though her words trembled, her resolve was clear.

Hiashi slowly lowered his hand.

A realization struck him—punishing Neji now might damage his relationship with his daughter.

Neji stood frozen.

He had merely seized an opening—something that shouldn't have worked against Hinata's current skill.

Yet it had.

But what shocked him more was Hinata stopping Hiashi.

He knew her well.

Though her combat style had grown assertive, her shyness remained.

Especially around Hiashi.

Before this, she had never opposed him—obeying like the perfect, docile child.

Neji recalled Hinata's proposed three reforms.

Perhaps there was hope after all.

Sasame had barely stepped into the courtyard when his gaze met Hinata's—and then everything went wrong.

He rushed forward, kneeling beside her. "Don't move."

Hinata stiffened.

They weren't alone.

Their meetings had always been secret—yet now, Hiashi was watching.

Sasame took her hand, rolling up her sleeve.

A bruise marred her pale skin where Neji had struck.

Gentle Fist was unlike normal taijutsu—its chakra needles targeted pressure points, making injuries worse than they appeared.

Hinata's face burned crimson, her mind blank with embarrassment.

With his newly acquired Sage Body, Sasame could now wield Yang Release—though he hadn't formally studied medical ninjutsu.

(Which, fundamentally, was just an application of Yang Release.)

So healing her was simple.

Placing a hand over the bruise, he channeled warm, revitalizing chakra into her.

The bruise vanished instantly.

Hinata gasped as exhaustion from the spar melted away.

A soft "Mm…" escaped her lips.

"All better."

Sasame smoothed her sleeve back and helped her up.

Hinata kept her head down, fingers nervously twisting together.

"???"

Hiashi was stunned.

What just happened?

Boy, do I not exist to you?

She's not someone you can just touch!

His gaze snapped to Hinata's flustered reaction—and anger flared.

As the main family's heiress, she could never marry outside the clan.

"Hinata, return to your room."

Hiashi's voice was icy.

(He couldn't reprimand Sasame outright—not with his status as the Hokage's disciple.)

Hinata, oblivious to his expression, fled the scene in a flustered hurry.

"Clan Head, I shall take my leave."

Neji bowed stiffly before withdrawing—unlike Hinata, he couldn't dismiss formalities.

"Lord Hiashi."

For Hinata's sake, Sasame greeted him politely.

"You're Sasame, correct?"

Hiashi's tone was frosty.

Sasame recalled an old saying:

"So you're the one they call Xia Luo?"

He knew his actions had crossed a line in Hiashi's eyes.

But seeing Hinata hurt, he couldn't stay passive.

And truthfully?

Hiashi wasn't worth his concern.

"Yes."

Sasame smiled. "I'm honored you remember me."

Hiashi studied him, baffled.

Most youths his age would be nervous in the presence of a clan head.

Yet Sasame was completely at ease—as if chatting with an equal.

"What are the Hokage's orders?"

Hiashi made no move to invite him inside, remaining in the courtyard.

Though he wouldn't act out, he wouldn't let this slide.

The Hyūga clan prized propriety—and Sasame had just breached it.

Hinata's injuries were the Hyūga's concern, not his.

Sasame sighed. "Lord Hiashi, can you keep a secret?"

From the original story, he knew Hiashi's nature:

"Bully the weak, fear the strong."

For all his strictness toward the branch family, he was spineless externally.

Especially toward Hiruzen.

He had allowed Hizashi to die for Konoha's peace—without protest.

(Even if Hizashi had volunteered after knocking Hiashi out, his subservience to Hiruzen spoke volumes.)

Sasame decided to reveal a fraction of his power.

To intimidate Hiashi—ensuring he wouldn't interfere with Hinata.

And to strengthen his bargaining position.

To strip the elder advisors of power, he needed a secretary formidable enough to stand against them.

Otherwise, the effort was pointless.

"What do you mean?"

Hiashi frowned, not understanding the question.

"Today, I'll teach you a lesson: Never underestimate the young."

Sasame shrugged.

"What did you say?"

Hiashi's face darkened.

He lashed out with a punch—only for his fist to phase through Sasame's image.

"Genjutsu?!"

Hiashi's blood ran cold. When had he been trapped?

He formed hand seals, disrupting his chakra flow—but the illusion held firm.

Then, a kunai pressed against his throat.

"A gift, Lord Hiashi."

Sasame pressed the blade into his hand.

"You—"

Hiashi's back was drenched in cold sweat.

Had Sasame wished him dead, he'd already be in the Pure Land.

Have I grown so weak?

To fall for a genjutsu without noticing?

No—this boy was simply too strong.

Hiashi had fought in the last war—he knew Sasame's past reputation.

A faceless genin.

How had he grown this powerful in such a short time?

"Shall we talk now?"

Sasame waved a hand before Hiashi's dazed eyes.

"P-Please, come in."

Hiashi stepped aside, his voice unsteady.

"Thank you."

Sasame entered the hall but didn't take the central seat.

He was, after all, a polite young man.

The earlier display had merely been to facilitate negotiations.

Would Hiashi reveal this?

Unlikely.

Would he complain to Tsunade?

Hiashi wasn't that stupid.

"The Hokage's orders."

Sasame handed over the document.

Hiashi scanned it—and nearly choked.

This was it?!

After all that theatrics?!

No—this boy had been warning him.

About Hinata.

Hiashi's lips twisted.

At least he still had Hanabi as a backup heir.

"I'll send Hyūga Mirai to report for duty."

Hiashi agreed without hesitation.

Mirai was a bright Hyūga chūnin—chosen precisely for his intellect.

A jōnin would be wasted as a secretary—no clan would allow it.

Besides, the position was unpaid.

"No. I want Hyūga Hizashi."

Sasame's demand made Hiashi balk.

"Are you joking?"

A secretary was just a glorified errand boy—especially under the elders' thumbs.

"I'm serious."

Sasame explained, "I dislike Koharu and Homura. I need someone to oppose them."

"Is this the Hokage's will?"

Hiashi's expression shifted.

If Hizashi became an advisor, it would be advantageous—if it succeeded.

Otherwise, they'd earn the elders' wrath.

The two had decades of political influence—most clans avoided crossing them.

But another concern arose:

Would granting the branch family such power breed rebellion?

"It's mine."

Sasame didn't lie.

Tsunade, as Hokage, had to balance too many factors to act directly.

So Sasame would help her behind the scenes.

"Yours?"

Hiashi's frown deepened.

This was troublesome.

Sasame's genjutsu display had shaken him—but not enough.

Opposing two elders was no small matter.

One misstep, and the Hyūga would be dragged down.

Their clan had survived this long by avoiding conflict.

In the original story, even after Hinata's kidnapping and Hizashi's death, they had done nothing.

"I must not be standing high enough."

Sasame muttered an old meme.

Then he stood—no longer hiding his power.

His eyes shifted, the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan blazing to life.

A chilling, oppressive aura suffocated the room.

Hiashi trembled, his body betraying him under the weight of Sasame's presence.

"You should thank Hinata."

Sasame smiled. "I have little patience for stubborn old men—but you're my future father-in-law, after all."

Father-in-law?!

Hiashi froze, fury flashing—before common sense prevailed.

He had no desire to test those terrifying eyes.

"The Mangekyō Sharingan?"

Hiashi recalled clan records, his voice hoarse.

"Correct."

Sasame nodded.

"…"

Hiashi felt true fear.

He knew too much.

Would Sasame silence him?

A teenager with such power had to have secrets.

But one thing was certain—Hiashi couldn't win.

The Mangekyō Sharingan had once belonged to Madara Uchiha.

Though the Uchiha and Hyūga were compared, the former's elite far outclassed them.

"Don't worry."

Sasame guessed his thoughts. "I showed you my strength to ensure our cooperation."

"…I'll send Hizashi."

After a tense silence, Hiashi relented.

"Thank you for your cooperation."

Sasame stood, his tone indifferent. "Let's keep today between us."

Hiashi opened his mouth—

And the world shifted.

Mountains of corpses. Rivers of blood.

Another genjutsu?!

He formed hand seals frantically—but nothing worked.

If the Eternal Mangekyō's illusions were so easily broken, they wouldn't be legendary.

Terror gripped Hiashi's heart.

Unfathomable. Unbreakable.

A snap returned him to reality.

Gasping, Hiashi swore, "No third soul will hear of this."

Ah, the joys of overwhelming power.

Pity that coerced changes didn't yield Fate Points.

But being a menace was fun too.

As Sasame turned to leave, the Wheel of Fate chimed:

[Hyūga Hizashi's fate has changed. +37 Fate Points.]

(No points from Hiashi, as expected.)

With a slight bow, Sasame departed.

Hiashi watched him go, muscles unclenching at last.

The pressure had been suffocating—like death itself loomed over him.

"Perhaps this isn't a bad thing."

If Sasame married Hinata, the Hyūga would gain a powerful ally.

The Hokage's disciple might not become Hokage—but with Sasame's strength, it was likely.

A son-in-law as Hokage was far more reliable than groveling before Hiruzen.

Sasame didn't leave the compound.

Instead, he headed to Hinata's room.

After his heart-to-heart with Hiashi, there'd be no more interference.

"Sasame-nii!"

Hinata opened the door, her face lighting up.

"How's your arm?"

Sitting across from her, Sasame studied her injury.

"All better."

Hinata blinked her pearlescent eyes. "Do you know medical ninjutsu?"

"Not exactly."

Sasame smiled. "Similar principles, though."

"Oh."

She nodded, curiosity satisfied.

"Any other injuries?"

Sasame flexed his fingers. "I can heal those too."

"N-No need…"

Hinata's face flamed, her voice flustered.

"Give me your hand."

Sasame realized her misunderstanding.

Hinata shyly extended her arm, trembling at his touch.

Yang chakra flowed through her, mending every bruise—visible and hidden.

"Amazing…"

Hinata stared in awe.

This surpassed even the Hyūga's hired medics.

"Next time you're hurt, come find me."

Sasame ruffled her hair. "And your father's given you permission to go out whenever you like."

(If Hiashi objected, Sasame would beat sense into him.)
