The dungeons of the tower weren't something like a testing ground. From the eyes of the higher beings of the tower, they were a good material or food.
The dungeons were created by the higher beings of the tower for their own fun. There existed dungeons that came to be naturally within nature, however, they weren't considered dungeons by the system but [Fields].
Dungeons on the other hand were unique spaces that were made with the intention of growing them through the experience of the challengers.
'When a dungeon was created by a higher being, it was given to a [Luminaries] or the dungeon manager, a being who was much like a cultivator of the dungeon.'
These cultivators, while not being the creators of the dungeons, maintained the dungeons and made sure the creatures within the dungeons fought against all the challengers that entered here.
They grew the creatures within the dungeons and made their dungeons into products that would appeal to their creators.
When the dungeon's original creators, the higher beings of the tower, liked the work of these managers, the managers were given the right to manage more dungeons with diverse monsters and concepts.
'For the higher beings, the data that they got from the dungeons, or the unique happenings that they saw within these dungeons acted as a nourishment.'
When a cultivated product reached a certain level or achieved its full potential which was predetermined at the time of creation, the quality was evaluated based on what the cultivators had intended to happen within these dungeons.
{ "You're so bad! How could you kill all of the creatures by yourself? It's sooooo boring!" }
KiRA knew instantly what the manager of this dungeon would have intended by putting all these small and big creatures along with this unique crawler.
They did not follow the set pattern or famous tactics that the other managers usually pursued. They had their own original idea, which led to this dungeons' creation.
{ "If you punish this guy anymore, it's going to break everything! I worked so hard on this one, hah! I even borrowed money from a senior but everything is ruined!" }
The subway station was originally a big dungeon.
One person was never supposed to clear this dungeon on his own, KiRA knew that as soon as he saw the number of creatures that were listed at the beginning of the tutorial.
Two hundred right off the bet wasn't a small number. For the normal people who are just starting their lives within the tower, even the mutated rats were a difficult opponent to face.
'Yet here I was, killing them as if they were nothing more than little bugs.'
The dungeon crawler was also not a simple being. Its existence here also meant the one who put it here must have had a unique objective in mind.
"You made it like this, alright? You should have thought about the anomalies."
{ "I did! What do you take me for? A dumb bird?!" }
The dungeon managers were beings who knew their work. Each one of them was unique and there were countless of them within the tower.
{ "I'm just starting out and yes this is my first project but I've heard many stories from my seniors! I know there are people out there that don't make any sense! I wanted to make this one filled with adventures. A dungeon of utter annihilation like how my contractor likes or at least a place where the creatures have a solid upper hand!" }
'This one's unexpectedly chatty.'
There were hundreds of higher beings depending on which floor one was talking about. Still, the floors that Unity used to look after were usually the ones where the divinities resided.
Those higher beings had their own personalities and concepts. Some were based on eastern mythologies while some were based on western.
There were all kinds of higher beings— all those who possessed Divinities to a certain higher degree were called higher beings of the tower. Also, they were restricted to the higher floors to preserve the [Great Balance].
{ "Access to the shop, access to items of middle floors like those threads and gloves, even your existing knowledge about how to deal with these creatures!
I got the news that the people of your world somehow know a lot about us and the tower, but this still doesn't make any sense!
How is it that you have [Purity] when you haven't even entered the tower?!
How was anyone supposed to foresee this!?" }
The dungeon manager was stunned right now. It simply could not understand how KiRA got all his items and the unique stat.
But there was no need for the being to know about that…
"Alright alright. Calm down. Do you want this little snack? I think you'll like it." KiRA took out the meat of the rabbit that he had been using all this time.
The purpose of the item was finished for now so he was going to save it. However, he willingly offered it to the White Crow.
{ "You! You…! Thanks for the snack." }
The crow was angry at first! It screamed at KiRA, however it quickly accepted the little gift. After KiRA ruined everything for him, the poor being at least didn't mind this good snack.
{ "Mmmm… who knew I'd get to eat this delicacy in this other world." }
KiRA had been analyzing this being ever since it got here and he had figured out quite a few things about it.
As he saw him eating the meat happily, KiRA had also finished his evaluation of the creature.
"It's good, isn't it? I can get you more if you want."
{ "Hmm? Oh, really~?" }
KiRA didn't understand how he got so lucky to have such a gullible and young dungeon manager. There was a pleased smile on his face right now. He was loving this situation quite a bit.
"Yes, really. Didn't you see how I had items from the middle floors? I have access to a special kind of shop. I can get the meat for you, or if you want, I can get you [@#$%] as well."
{ "...?!" }
As if the creature had heard something shocking, it shot a glare at KiRA and jumped a step back from him.
{ "You…! You! How do you know-...!" }
What KiRA had said wasn't something anyone, not even his original contractor should have known about.
"Oh, I have my ways. But I'm not messing around, you know? I'm really serious here." there was something every single Dungeon manager wanted.
For some, it was the purpose of their existence. For others, that 'item' was a means to a greater end.
"You just have to sign a partnership contract with me. I promise you won't regret it." He offered with a confident look in his eyes.
One that, in the white eyes of the crow, seemed as true as it could be.
{ "..." }
The crow knew KiRA was being serious about this. It knew KiRA had his ways to achieve what he was offering.
His special eyes could see through people. And right now, his innate senses, his intuition was screaming something at him.
{ "But how can someone like you, who hasn't even entered the tower, much less reached higher floors, make a contract?" }
He may be young and new to the field, but he wasn't naive or dumb. KiRA had already figured out the enormous potential this being had.
Just like how KiRA could sense money every step of the way, this certain creature could also sense something incredible from this weakling human.
"Oh you don't have to worry about the small things." KiRA gave the pretty white crow a warm smile and nodded while looking at Unity.
Then, he took a deep breath and called out to his very dependable situationship.
"System, I want to sign a partnership contract with this Luminarie here."
[Ding!]
[ID: KiRA does not have the authority to sign the aforementioned contract.]
"Oh? I don't? Then, what if I do this~?"
"Vivi!"
[Ding!]
[Companion: Unity has used the skill: Open Access (Lv. MAX) on ID: KiRA.]
[Ding!]
[Analyzing causality...]
[Ding!]
[You can now sign the partnership contract.]
It doesn't really matter how many coins, or how much money you have if you don't know how to constantly grow it.
Just like in the real world, the true secret behind the rich people getting richer is through investing their resources in a way that would give them positive returns.
'There's stocks in the towers as well, there's a market. With enough coins and the right method, you could even buy divinity if you want. IX simply had that great influence within the tower.'
He had money. A lot of it compared to the other players right now. Even compared to the natives of the lower level, he was as rich as a royal from the 10th floor of the tower.
A million wasn't that much, but if he could contract with a dungeon manager, then…
{ "Oh, wow…" }
Things would change completely.
